As we continue to grow, we are looking for our Primary Backend Lead—someone who will own the backend engineering function, establish technical standards, mentor the engineering team, and architect systems capable of supporting millions of transactions.

This is not just another backend development role. You will be one of the technical pillars of the company and will directly influence our engineering culture and product architecture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY

- Technical Leadership: - Define and own the backend architecture for all products. - Make long-term technical decisions balancing speed, scalability, reliability, and maintainability. - Lead architecture reviews and technical design discussions. - Establish engineering standards, coding guidelines, and development processes. - Drive technical excellence across the engineering organization.
- Backend Development: Design, develop and maintain highly scalable backend services using Node.js, TypeScript,NestJS / Express, REST APIs, GraphQL (good to have). Build reusable backend components capable of supporting rapid feature development.
- Distributed Systems: Design and maintain event-driven architecture, message queues, background workers, distributed processing, service-to-service communication. Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS/SNS is highly preferred.
- Database Architecture:



Design scalable data models using PostgreSQL, Redis, DynamoDB (preferred). Responsibilities include schema design, indexing, query optimization, partitioning, caching strategies, database migrations, backup and disaster recovery.
- Cloud Architecture: Own backend infrastructure on AWS. Hands-on experience with ECS, EKS, EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, SNS, SQS. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation is highly desirable.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Build reliable deployment pipelines. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CI/CD automation, Blue-Green deployment, Canary releases.
- Reliability & Performance: Own production systems by monitoring uptime, reducing latency, improving throughput, capacity planning, incident management, root cause analysis, disaster recovery planning. Implement observability using Grafana, Prometheus, ELK/OpenSearch, Datadog/Recent Relic.
- Security: Implement backend security best practices including OAuth, JWT, RBAC, API security, encryption, secret management, OWASP principles, rate limiting, audit logging.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor backend engineers by reviewing pull requests, mentoring junior developers, conducting design reviews, improving engineering practices, hiring backend engineers, creating engineering documentation.
- Product Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers, Frontend Engineers, AI Engineers, QA, DevOps,Business Leadership. Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
