About Veranex:

Veranex’s mission as an Innovation CRO is to improve patient outcomes by accelerating our clients’ innovations to market. About This Role:

Veranex has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate Director / Controller, India. You will be part of a team working to improve lives globally through medical technology innovation.

The Rev Associate

Director / Controller, India is a senior finance leadership role based in Bangalore, India, supporting a global organization with multiple legal entities, a US GAAP consolidated reporting structure, and a Bangalore-based Shared Service Center (SSC) supporting other countries in which the company operates. This individual will serve as the accounting and controllership lead for the India legal entity — which has both local operations and a shared-services mandate for other regions — while also functioning as an Assistant Controller to the Global Controller at Corporate HQ and as a finance partner to the Regional Controller in Europe.

What You Will Do:

- Lead, mentor, and manage the Revenue Recognition team, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
- Own end-to-end revenue recognition processes under ASC 606, including contract review, performance obligation identification, transaction price allocation, and timing of recognition.
- Oversee invoicing processes and ensure alignment between billing, contracts, and revenue recognition treatment.
- Partner with Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk teams on contract structuring to ensure appropriate revenue treatment for new and non-standard deals.
- Maintain and update revenue recognition policies, position papers, and technical accounting memos; monitor evolving ASC 606 guidance and assess impact.
- Design, implement, and monitor internal controls over revenue and invoicing processes (SOX or SOX-like control environment).
- Provide revenue-related analytics and reporting to FP&A;, Sales Finance, and executive leadership (e.g., deferred revenue, backlog, billings vs. revenue variance).
- Serve as the controller for the India legal entity, which supports both local India operations and shared-service functions for other countries in the global group.
- Own the full accounting close process for the India entity under US GAAP, with reconciliation to local Indian GAAP (Ind AS) requirements as applicable.
- Ensure accurate, timely month-end and quarter-end close, account reconciliations, and management reporting for the entity.
- Oversee local statutory compliance matters in coordination with tax/legal advisors, including statutory audit readiness, GST, TDS, and other India-specific regulatory accounting considerations.
- Provide indirect oversight and quality assurance over accounting operations performed by the Bangalore Shared Service Center on behalf of other legal entities/countries in the group.
- Partner with SSC operational leads to ensure consistent accounting policies, controls, and close calendars across serviced entities.
- Identify and drive process standardization, automation,

and efficiency opportunities across shared-service accounting functions.
- Act as an escalation point for accounting/technical questions arising from SSC-supported entities.
- Support the Global Controller at Corporate HQ with consolidated US GAAP financial statement preparation, technical accounting research, and group-wide reporting deliverables.
- Support the Regional Controller, Europe, on entity-level accounting matters, intercompany reconciliations, and regional reporting needs.
- Assist with consolidation processes, elimination entries, and intercompany transaction accounting across multiple legal entities and currencies.
- Contribute to group-wide accounting policy consistency and technical accounting positions (e.g., leases, revenue, business combinations) as needed.
- Manage and review intercompany transactions, intercompany billing, and related reconciliations across entities and currencies.
- Apply working knowledge of transfer pricing principles to ensure intercompany arrangements are appropriately documented and accounted for.
- Monitor foreign currency translation, remeasurement, and related accounting impacts across the entities supported.
- Coordinate with local tax advisors/tax teams on transfer pricing documentation, permanent establishment considerations, and other cross-border tax-accounting intersections.
- Lead or support local statutory audits for the India entity and coordinate audit support for other entities serviced by the Bangalore SSC.
- Support the global US GAAP consolidated audit, including PBC (prepared-by-client) schedules, audit inquiries, and coordination with external auditors (Big Four or equivalent).
- Support internal and external financial reporting deliverables, including flux analysis, disclosures, and management reporting packages.
- Partner with Internal Audit and Risk teams on control testing, remediation, and continuous improvement of the control environment.
- Provide finance/accounting input relevant to enterprise risk management, including revenue risk, entity-level compliance risk, and financial statement risk — supporting the type of visibility a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) function would require across multiple legal entities/jurisdictions (e.g., control gaps, regulatory exposure, currency/tax risk, audit findings trends).
- Assist in preparing risk-oriented reporting or dashboards that could roll up into enterprise risk or audit committee materials, as needed.
- Participate in systems and process improvement initiatives (ERP, revenue automation tools, close automation).
- Provide ad hoc analysis and support for M&A; integration, new entity setup, or business expansion activities as needed.

Qualifications:

Required skills:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) designation required (ICAI or equivalent recognized qualification).
- 8–12+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including demonstrated experience in both revenue recognition (ASC 606) and broader controllership responsibilities.
- Minimum 2–4 years of people management experience, ideally leading a revenue recognition, accounting, or shared-services team.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP; experience with a US GAAP-reporting multinational is required.
- Experience working within or supporting a shared service center (SSC) or global business services (GBS) model.
- Experience with multi-entity consolidations, intercompany accounting, and multi-currency environments.

- Familiarity with transfer pricing concepts and their accounting/documentation implications.
- Experience supporting or leading statutory audits in India, as well as supporting US GAAP consolidated/group audits.
- Working knowledge of Indian statutory and tax requirements (Ind AS, GST, TDS) sufficient to partner effectively with local tax/compliance advisors.
- Strong ERP experience (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar); experience with revenue automation tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and cross-culturally with stakeholders in the US, Europe, and Asia.
- Willingness and ability to work occasional off-hours to accommodate meetings with Europe- and US-based stakeholders.
- Big Four public accounting experience (audit or advisory), particularly with technical accounting/ASC 606 exposure, strongly preferred.
- Experience in a technology, SaaS, or services industry with complex, multi-element revenue arrangements.
- Prior experience operating in a dual/matrix reporting structure across global finance organizations.
- Exposure to enterprise risk management, internal controls (SOX), or supporting a CRO/risk function in a multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional company.
- MBA, CPA, ACCA, or other complementary certification.
- Experience with entity rationalization, new entity setup, or M&A; integration accounting.

Preferred:

- Technical accounting depth (revenue recognition specifically) combined with broad controllership judgment.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity, across time zones, and within a matrixed reporting environment.
- Strong controls mindset and comfort operating in a highly audited, compliance-driven environment.
- People leadership and team development skills.
- Executive-level communication and the ability to translate technical accounting matters for non-accounting stakeholders.
- Comfort balancing hands-on execution with strategic/managerial oversight.
- Hybrid role based in Bangalore, India.
- Some early morning or evening calls/work required to align with counterparts in Europe and, at times, the US.
- Domestic or limited international travel may occasionally be required for audits, close activities, or team engagement.
