Company Description Cultural Exchanges® is an emerging cultural institution and curated global platform connecting artists, collectors, museums, scholars, cultural institutions, and social-impact initiatives through art, research, and meaningful cultural dialogue.

Its Cultural Exchanges Provenance &

- Evaluation System (CEPS) is a developing digital research and documentation infrastructure designed to support the structured recording of artists, artworks, provenance, historical context, institutional references, and cultural knowledge. CEPS aims to strengthen transparency, traceability, and responsible stewardship within the art ecosystem.

Cultural Exchanges® works across exhibitions, auctions, artist representation, provenance documentation, certificates of authenticity, catalogue raisonné development, curatorial research, cultural collaborations, and socially engaged art initiatives.

The organisation is building a long-term ecosystem in which art is understood not merely as an object of ownership, but as a carrier of history, identity, memory, knowledge, and human connection.

Applicants joining Cultural Exchanges® will become part of a developing institution where research, cultural heritage, technology, and contemporary artistic practice intersect.

Role Description The Art Research &

- Provenance Researcher –
- CEPS is a full-time, remote role responsible for developing and maintaining the research and knowledge layer of the Cultural Exchanges Provenance &
- Evaluation System (CEPS).

The researcher will conduct systematic research on artists, artworks, art movements, historical periods, exhibitions, collections, institutions, publications, provenance records, and cultural contexts, converting reliable information into structured and traceable research records for CEPS.

Key Responsibilities





Conduct in-depth research on artists, artworks, movements, periods, institutions, exhibitions, collections, and cultural histories.

Research and document artwork information including titles, dates, mediums, dimensions, signatures, ownership history, exhibition history, publication references, and provenance.

Identify and evaluate reliable primary and secondary sources, including museum archives, institutional records, catalogues, scholarly publications, artist archives, recognised databases, and other credible references.

Distinguish clearly between verified, documented, attributed, reported, disputed, and unknown information.

Enter and maintain accurate research data within the CEPS software.

Build structured relationships between artists, artworks, movements, periods, institutions, exhibitions, collections, and sources.

Assist in developing the historical and contextual knowledge base of CEPS, including research on major Indian and international artists.

Review existing records for inconsistencies, missing information, duplication, spelling variations, dates, attribution issues, and source quality.

Maintain a clear research trail so that significant information entered into CEPS can be traced back to its supporting source.

Support provenance research and documentation without making unsupported claims of authenticity.

Prepare research notes, artist profiles, artwork records, institutional dossiers, exhibition research,



and curatorial background material.

Collaborate with curators, artists, researchers, technology teams, and communications professionals.

Support exhibitions, auctions, catalogue raisonné projects, institutional proposals, cultural collaborations, and grant documentation.

Contribute to the development of CEPS as a credible long-term cultural research and documentation infrastructure.

Qualifications

- Strong art historical and cultural research skills, including experience working with primary and secondary sources, archives, and databases.
- Excellent writing and editing abilities, with a capacity to create clear, engaging, and accessible texts such as artist bios, exhibition texts, and thematic essays.
- Competence in critical analysis and conceptual thinking, with the ability to connect artworks to broader social, spiritual, and cultural frameworks.
- Organizational and project management skills, including attention to detail, time management, and the ability to handle multiple research streams concurrently.
- Digital literacy, including familiarity with online research tools, team-oriented platforms, and basic document and data management practices.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while contributing effectively to interdisciplinary teams and cross-cultural collaborations.
- Background in Art History, Cultural Studies, Visual Arts, Museum Studies, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience in art research is beneficial.
- Knowledge of contemporary, spiritual, and expressive art practices and interest in socially engaged or consciousness-oriented artistic work.
- Strong intercultural awareness and sensitivity, with a commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory, and ethically grounded research practices.
