Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Advocate role based in the Greater Chennai Area. The Advocate will handle matters related to domestic and international tax, corporate law, and associated regulatory compliance, including drafting, reviewing, and filing legal documents, contracts, and opinions. Day-to-day responsibilities include representing clients before appropriate authorities and forums, conducting in-depth legal research, preparing case strategies and written submissions, and advising clients on tax and corporate structuring.





The role also involves collaborating with internal teams on complex transactions, staying current with legal developments, and contributing to knowledge-building initiatives such as internal briefs or firm publications.

Qualifications

- Strong legal research and drafting skills, including preparation of opinions, pleadings, and transactional documents.
- Knowledge of domestic tax laws (direct and indirect) and related compliance requirements.
- Understanding of international tax concepts such as withholding tax and transfer pricing.
- Experience or interest in corporate law matters, including entity formation, M&A;, business transfers, and windups.
- Ability to appear before tax authorities, tribunals, and other relevant forums, with sound advocacy and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B) from a recognized institution; LL.M or specialized qualifications in tax or corporate law are an advantage.
- Enrollment with the Bar Council and eligibility to practice law in India.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and precision in written work.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a quick-paced, client-focused environment.
- Demonstrated interest in public policy, social justice, or consumer and labor rights is a plus.
