Role Description

This is a full-time remote role. We are seeking an Accountant to join our offshore accounting team and support the preparation of accounting, taxation and compliance work for Australian clients. The role will involve working across individuals, companies, trusts and self-managed superannuation funds, with exposure to Australian bookkeeping, tax and compliance requirements.

This role requires excellent English language proficiency, strong organisational skills, and stong technical accounting knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

- Performing monthly bookkeeping, including bank reconciliations, transaction coding, general ledger reviews and account reconciliations.
- Preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) for review and lodgement.
- Preparing Individual Income Tax Returns and supporting workpapers.




- Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for companies and trusts.
- Processing Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) accounts and preparing files and supporting workpapers for financial statement, tax return and audit completion.
- Maintaining accurate and well-organised working papers and supporting documentation in accordance with firm standards.
- Reviewing client accounting records, identifying missing information or discrepancies, and assisting with queries required to complete assignments.
- Working with the Australian-based team to ensure jobs are completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed deadlines.
- Maintaining confidentiality and professional standards when handling client financial and taxation information

Shift time: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Qualifications

- CA (Inter), CMA (Inter), CA, CMA, or equivalent accounting qualification.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant accounting experience.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
- Positive attention to detail and ability to prepare accurate, well-documented work.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Experience working with Australian accounting and taxation clients will be highly regarded.
- Experience with Xero and BGL is preferred but not essential.
