Role Description The 3D BIM Engineer (Building Information Modeling) will develop and manage detailed BIM models for pharmaceutical facilities, ensuring accurate coordination across architecture, civil, structural, and MEP disciplines. This full-time, on-site role in Mumbai involves preparing and updating construction drawings, clash detection and resolution, and maintaining model integrity throughout design and execution phases. The person in this role will collaborate closely with design engineers, project managers, and site teams to translate design intent into constructible 3D models aligned with GMP and other regulatory requirements.

Day-to-day responsibilities include model setup, data management within BIM platforms, documentation generation (plans, sections, elevations, schedules), and supporting design reviews and client presentations with transparent visualizations.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools and workflows, including 3D model creation, coordination, and clash detection.
- Ability to prepare, interpret, and revise Construction Drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and detailed shop drawings.
- Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems and their integration within BIM models for complex facility projects.
- Understanding of Architecture and architectural detailing for industrial or pharma facilities, with an emphasis on functional and compliant design.
- Background in Civil Engineering or related discipline, with familiarity in structural and site coordination within BIM environments.
- Proficiency in relevant software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other BIM collaboration platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical), Architecture, or a related technical field.
- Experience working on industrial or pharmaceutical projects and basic understanding of GMP-related design considerations is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

BIM Modeling & Coordination





· Develop detailed 3D BIM models for architectural, structural, mechanical (HVAC), plumbing, electrical, and process disciplines.

· Create BIM models using project specifications, engineering drawings, and client requirements.

· Coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models to ensure accurate integration of all services.

· Maintain BIM standards and model quality throughout the project lifecycle.

· Update BIM models based on engineering revisions and site feedback.

Pharmaceutical & Cleanroom Projects

- Prepare BIM models for:

o Pharmaceutical manufacturing plants o API facilities o Biotechnology plants o Vaccine facilities o Cleanrooms o Data centers o Semiconductor manufacturing facilities · Model cleanroom panels, ceilings, doors, windows, HVAC ducting, piping, cable trays, and utility systems.

· Coordinate equipment layouts with process, HVAC, and utility services.

Clash Detection & Coordination

· Perform clash detection using Navisworks or equivalent software.

· Identify and resolve interdisciplinary clashes.

· Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, HVAC engineers, MEP engineers, and process engineers.

· Participate in BIM coordination meetings and maintain clash reports.

Construction Documentation

· Generate:

o General Arrangement (GA) Drawings o Shop Drawings o Fabrication Drawings o Installation Drawings o Isometric Drawings o Sections and Elevations o Equipment Layouts o BIM-based BOQs o Material Schedules

Project Coordination

· Work closely with:

o Mechanical Engineers o HVAC Engineers o Electrical Engineers o Civil Engineers o Process Engineers o Procurement Team o Site Execution Team o Clients and Consultants

BIM Data Management

- Maintain project BIM libraries and templates.
- Manage BIM families and parametric components.
- Ensure version control of BIM models.
- Organize project documentation as per BIM execution plans (BEP).
- Maintain Common Data Environment (CDE) standards where applicable.

Quantity Take-Off & Reporting

- Generate accurate quantity take-offs from BIM models.
- Prepare material schedules and quantity reports.
- Support estimation and procurement teams with model-based quantities.

Site Support

- Provide BIM support during construction and installation.
- Update as-built BIM models based on site changes.
- Coordinate with site engineers to resolve design and installation issues.
- Assist in project handover documentation.





Experience · 3–8 years of experience in BIM modeling.

· Experience in pharmaceutical, cleanroom, industrial, or MEP projects is preferred.

· Experience in EPC or turnkey project environments is an advantage.
