Role Objective

We are looking for an experienced Stores & Inventory Transformation Consultant to lead the complete transformation and on-ground implementation of the Stores & Inventory function. The role will involve identifying control gaps, redesigning processes, implementing ERP and physical controls, training personnel, testing controls, and stabilising the overall system.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct diagnostic and gap assessment of existing material flows, SOPs, ERP transactions, responsibilities, documentation, and physical controls.

- Identify leakages, loopholes, process gaps, and control failures.

- Redesign end-to-end Stores & Inventory processes covering:

- PR/PO

- Gate Entry

- Material Receipt

- Inspection/QC

- GRN

- Put-away

- Bin Management

- Material Issue & Return

- Transfer

- Scrap

- Stock Adjustment

- Stock Verification

- Clean and standardise the Inventory/Material Master, including material codes, descriptions, UOM, specifications, criticality, ABC/FSN/VED classification, Min-Max levels, Reorder Levels, Lead Time, and storage locations.

- Establish ERP controls including maker-checker controls, approval matrix, user access controls, backdated-entry controls, negative-stock controls, and exception reporting.

- Implement physical Stores controls covering bin/location discipline, tagging, material identification, segregation, preservation, security, and controlled material movement.

- Implement cycle counting, surprise stock checks, variance investigation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis.

- Integrate Stores with Purchase, Maintenance, Production, Accounts, Quality, Security, and IT for complete material traceability.





- Develop daily/weekly/monthly MIS and exception dashboards covering negative stock, excess/slow/non-moving inventory, pending GRNs, stock variance, emergency purchases, ageing, stock-outs, and unauthorised adjustments.

- Train Stores personnel and user departments.

- Conduct control testing, monitor compliance, close implementation gaps, and establish a sustainable control framework.

Key Deliverables

- Approved Stores SOP Manual with RACI, authority matrix, documents, ERP transactions, and control points.

- End-to-End Material Movement & Control Matrix.

- Risk/Control Register.

- Clean Material Master and Inventory Classification Framework.

- Implemented Bin/Location and Physical Inventory Control System.

- Cycle-Counting and Stock-Variance Investigation Mechanism.

- Standardised Exception MIS and Inventory Control Dashboard.

- Reduction in negative stock, excess/obsolete inventory, unexplained variances, and unauthorised adjustments.

- Documented evidence of implementation, user training, control testing, and management sign-off.

Candidate Profile

Experience Required: 8–15+ years

Candidates should have hands-on experience in Stores, Inventory, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Excellence, or Operations Transformation, preferably in steel, heavy engineering, metals, or manufacturing industries.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
