Rhino Jewelry CAD Artist – 3D Modeling & Quality Review
Employment Type
Contract
Location
India / Remote
Compensation
₹40,000–₹60,000 per month, depending on experience, portfolio, and manufacturing expertise.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Jewelry CAD Artist with strong Rhino expertise to support a project focused on developing and improving 3D jewelry modeling tools.
The role involves creating accurate reference models in Rhino, reviewing and correcting AI-generated 3D jewelry models, and ensuring that models are both structurally accurate and suitable for real-world manufacturing.
This is a hands-on role combining jewelry CAD modeling, quality control, component segmentation, and manufacturing validation.
Key Responsibilities1. Jewelry CAD Modeling
- Create and clean parametric jewelry models in Rhino.
- Develop accurate reference/ground-truth models for:
- Rings
- Pendants
- Earrings
- Other jewelry components
- Build models as properly structured component assemblies, including:
- Shanks
- Heads
- Prongs
- Bezels
- Galleries
- Halos
- Bails
- Stone settings
- Other relevant components
- Ensure models are geometrically accurate, clean, and consistent.
2. AI-Generated Model Review & Correction
- Review 3D jewelry models generated by AI/automated modeling systems.
- Identify and correct modeling errors, missing components, and incorrect geometry.
- Assess whether AI-generated models accurately represent the intended jewelry design.
- Identify components that have been incorrectly combined, separated, or classified.
3. Component Segmentation & Annotation
- Define and label individual jewelry components within 3D models.
- Mark where one component begins and another ends.
- Correct inaccurate AI-generated segmentations.
- Apply a consistent jewelry component naming and classification system across all models.
- Maintain consistency and accuracy across repetitive annotation tasks.
4. Manufacturing & Quality Validation
- Review models for manufacturability and production feasibility.
- Identify issues related to:
- Prong placement
- Stone settings
- Wall thickness
- Shank profiles
- Stone sizing
- Component connections
- Structural integrity
- Casting feasibility
- Flag models or designs that would not realistically be suitable for casting or production.
- Apply practical knowledge from real-world jewelry manufacturing when reviewing models.
5. File Preparation
- Prepare and export models in appropriate formats such as:
- OBJ
- STL
- GLB
- Ensure separate components are properly named and organized.
- Maintain clean and structured model files suitable for downstream 3D/AI workflows.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in jewelry CAD modeling.
- Strong proficiency in Rhinoceros (Rhino).
- Experience creating jewelry models that have been taken through casting or actual production.
- Strong understanding of jewelry construction and manufacturing.
- Practical knowledge of:
- Prong settings
- Bezel settings
- Halo settings
- Calibrated stone sizes
- Shank profiles
- Ring heads
- Galleries
- Bails and other jewelry components
- Ability to create clean, accurate and production-ready 3D models.
- Experience exporting and working with OBJ, STL and/or GLB files.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency.
- Ability to perform repetitive model review, segmentation and labeling tasks accurately.
- Good understanding of dimensional accuracy and manufacturability.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is not only a skilled Rhino jewelry designer but also has a strong understanding of how jewelry is actually manufactured.
You should be comfortable looking at a 3D model and identifying whether:
- The jewelry components have been correctly separated.
- The geometry accurately represents the intended design.
- The stone settings and proportions are appropriate.
- The model can realistically be cast and manufactured.
- An AI-generated model contains structural or segmentation errors.
The role requires someone who is highly detail-oriented, methodical, consistent,
and comfortable working on both creative CAD modeling and repetitive quality-review/annotation tasks.
Application Requirements
Interested candidates should submit:
- Portfolio of Rhino jewelry CAD work
- Brief summary of 2+ years of relevant experience
- Details of experience with actual jewelry casting/production
- List of CAD software used, particularly Rhino, MatrixGold, RhinoGold or 3Design
- Any relevant experience with 3D annotation, AI/ML or data-labeling projects
- Expected monthly contract compensation
- Availability / notice period
Please note: Candidates with demonstrated experience taking jewelry designs from CAD through actual manufacturing/casting will be strongly preferred.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
Application Question(s):
- Have you created jewelry models in Rhino that were actually taken through casting or manufacturing?
- Which jewelry CAD software are you proficient in?
- Which types of jewelry have you personally modeled?
- Are you comfortable modeling jewelry as separate components (e.g., shank, head, prongs, bezel, gallery, halo, bail and stones)?
- How would you assess whether a jewelry CAD model is suitable for casting/manufacturing?
- Do you have practical knowledge of prong and bezel settings, calibrated stone sizes, shank profiles and ring head construction?
- Have you worked with OBJ, STL or GLB files?
- Have you previously reviewed, corrected, annotated or segmented 3D models or meshes?
- Are you comfortable performing repetitive 3D model review and component-labeling tasks with a high level of consistency?
- Have you worked on any AI/ML, 3D annotation, data-labeling or computer-vision projects?
- Please provide a link to your portfolio showing your Rhino jewelry CAD work.
- A ring model generated by AI has the shank, head and prongs partially merged into one mesh, and the prongs are not positioned correctly around the stone. How would you approach correcting and segmenting the model to make it suitable as a reference/manufacturing model?
- Are you available to work remotely on a full time contract basis?
Experience:
- Creating jewelry CAD models in Rhino?: 2 years (Required)
- Rhino specifically for jewelry CAD?: 2 years (Required)
Work Location: Remote
