Job Requirements
Knowledge / Skills, Education & Experience
- B.E./B.Tech./Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 6–10 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Extensive practical experience in Siemens NX and Teamcenter for complex modelling and product-definition activities.
- Strong proficiency in creating detailed manufacturing drawings with GD&T;, in accordance with applicable ISO standards.
- Good knowledge of welding symbols, manufacturing processes and engineering drawing practices.
- Strong understanding of compressor/turbomachinery components and their application would be advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in handling complex engineering activities with minimal supervision.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with global engineering teams.
- Ability to independently own engineering activities with explicit accountability for quality and delivery.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects/work packages and meet committed timelines.
- Highly adaptable to new tasks, technologies, products and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Definition & Engineering
- Lead and own product-definition activities for compressor components, from requirement understanding through final engineering deliverables.
- Develop and review complex 3D models, assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings using Siemens NX.
- Manage engineering data, product structures and Engineering Bill of Materials (BOM) using Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
- Interpret and apply relevant international codes, standards and internal customer standards.
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet required standards for quality, accuracy, manufacturability and completeness.
- Provide technical guidance to engineers working on modelling, detailing and product-definition activities.
- Conduct technical reviews of models, drawings and engineering documentation.
- Technical Problem Solving
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex engineering and product-definition issues.
- Perform and drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for design and engineering failures.
- Identify and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Evaluate alternative engineering solutions and recommend technically feasible and cost-effective approaches.
- Apply sound engineering judgement to resolve complex technical challenges.
Project & Delivery Ownership
- Take ownership of assigned engineering work packages/projects, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, quality and timelines.
- Understand project requirements and effectively coordinate engineering activities with global teams.
- Plan and prioritize engineering activities to ensure efficient utilization of available resources.
- Proactively identify technical and delivery risks and drive appropriate mitigation actions.
- Support project leads/managers in planning, estimation, status reporting and technical escalations.
- Global / Customer Collaboration
- Act as a technical point of contact for global engineering teams and customers for assigned product-definition activities.
- Participate in technical discussions, design reviews and customer meetings.
- Clarify technical requirements and translate customer expectations into effective engineering solutions.
- Build strong working relationships with global stakeholders and support timely resolution of technical issues.
Team & Technical Leadership
- Mentor and guide engineers on Siemens NX, Teamcenter, product definition and engineering best practices.
- Review and provide technical feedback on engineering deliverables.
- Support capability development and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Create and maintain engineering guidelines, lessons learned and best practices.
- Drive standardization, design reuse and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support training and development of team members in compressor modelling and detailing according to customer standards.
