Job Description – Product Manager – Direct Supplies & Supply Chain
Role Overview
The Product Manager – Direct Supplies & Supply Chain will be responsible for managing Snackit’s Direct Supplies business along with product planning, procurement coordination, inventory, stock movement, expiry management, client requirements, pricing, margins, and business growth.
The role will involve managing the complete product lifecycle — from understanding client requirements and selecting the right products and brands, to procurement, stock planning, allocation, supply, monitoring product performance, controlling expiry and wastage, and ensuring profitable business growth.
The person will work closely with clients, suppliers, procurement, operations, finance, and internal teams to ensure the right product is available at the right location, at the right time, and at the right cost.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Management
- Manage Snackit’s product portfolio across vending and Direct Supplies categories.
- Understand customer and client requirements and identify suitable products.
- Identify recent products, brands, and categories based on market demand and client requirements.
- Develop and maintain the right product mix for different client locations.
- Identify high-margin products and brands and drive their adoption where commercially suitable.
- Monitor product sales, demand, margins, and performance.
- Identify slow-moving, low-margin, and non-performing products and take corrective action.
- Review product pricing regularly based on purchase cost, market conditions, client expectations, and target margins.
- Introduce new products and remove products that are not commercially viable.
- Work with suppliers and brands to improve product availability, pricing, schemes, and commercial terms.
2. Direct Supplies Management
- Manage the complete Direct Supplies business for Snackit.
- Understand requirements of existing clients and identify opportunities for additional business.
- Meet new and existing clients to understand their pantry, snack, beverage, and other workplace supply requirements.
- Prepare product proposals and commercial quotations based on client requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, discounts, margins, and commercial terms with clients.
- Ensure that client requirements are fulfilled accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Develop long-term client relationships and increase repeat business.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
- Expand the range of products supplied to existing clients.
- Develop new business opportunities and contribute to Direct Supplies revenue growth.
3. Demand Planning & Stock Planning
- Forecast product requirements based on historical consumption, current orders, client requirements, and expected demand.
- Plan stock requirements for different client locations.
- Ensure adequate stock availability without unnecessary overstocking.
- Determine minimum and maximum stock levels for key products.
- Plan replenishment based on consumption and lead time.
- Monitor demand fluctuations and adjust stock plans accordingly.
- Coordinate with procurement and operations teams to ensure timely replenishment.
- Ensure stock is available at the right location based on actual business requirements.
4. Inventory Management
- Monitor overall inventory levels across Snackit locations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper stock tracking.
- Monitor fast-moving, slow-moving, and non-moving inventory.
- Identify excess stock and plan movement or utilization to avoid inventory blockage.
- Monitor stock ageing and take timely action on ageing inventory.
- Plan stock transfers between locations based on demand.
- Ensure inventory is aligned with expected sales and client requirements.
- Minimize inventory holding costs while maintaining required service levels.
5. Expiry & Wastage Management
- Take ownership of product expiry management across all Direct Supplies and relevant inventory.
- Monitor expiry dates regularly and maintain an expiry tracking system.
- Follow FIFO/FEFO principles wherever applicable.
- Identify products approaching expiry and take timely action.
- Plan stock movement between locations based on expiry and demand.
- Prioritize products with shorter shelf life for consumption or supply.
- Coordinate with operations and clients to reduce expiry-related losses.
- Analyse expiry and wastage trends and implement corrective measures.
- Minimize product expiry, damage, wastage, and inventory losses.
6. Supply Chain & Procurement Coordination
- Coordinate the complete supply chain from supplier to client/location.
- Work with procurement teams to ensure products are purchased at competitive prices.
- Plan purchases based on demand, stock levels, lead times, and client requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding availability, pricing, delivery schedules, schemes, and replacement of damaged/expired products where applicable.
- Identify alternate suppliers when required.
- Negotiate with suppliers to improve purchase costs and commercial terms.
- Ensure timely movement of products from warehouse/supplier to required locations.
- Identify supply-chain gaps and recommend improvements.
7. Margin & Commercial Management
- Maintain target margins across products and clients.
- Analyse product-wise and client-wise profitability.
- Evaluate the impact of discounts before offering commercial terms to clients.
- Negotiate with clients to achieve commercially viable pricing.
- Negotiate with suppliers to improve purchase costs.
- Identify opportunities to improve gross margin through better product selection, pricing, supplier negotiations, and product mix.
- Monitor products with low or negative margins and take corrective action.
- Ensure business growth does not compromise profitability.
8. Client Relationship & Requirement Management
- Meet existing and potential clients regularly.
- Understand their current and future product requirements.
- Identify gaps in their existing pantry/supply arrangements.
- Recommend products and solutions based on their consumption and requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with key client contacts.
- Ensure client issues related to products, pricing, availability, and fulfilment are resolved promptly.
- Collect client feedback and use it to improve Snackit’s product and supply offering.
- Ensure commitments made to clients are properly communicated to internal teams.
9. Vending & Direct Supplies Integration
- Identify opportunities to combine Snackit’s vending-machine services with Direct Supplies.
- Analyse consumption at vending locations and identify additional products that can be supplied directly to clients.
- Use vending-machine sales and consumption data to support product and demand planning.
- Identify products that can be introduced across vending and direct-supply channels.
- Coordinate with vending operations to ensure product availability and efficient stock utilization.
- Develop integrated food, beverage, and pantry solutions for clients.
10. Product Performance & Business Analysis
- Monitor product-wise sales, margins, demand, inventory, and expiry.
- Analyse which products and brands are performing well and which are not.
- Track client-wise revenue and profitability.
- Identify trends in customer consumption.
- Use data to make decisions regarding product selection, pricing, stock levels, and procurement.
- Prepare regular reports for management covering sales, margins, inventory, expiry, and business growth.
- Recommend actions based on business and operational data.
11. Process Improvement
- Develop and improve processes for product selection, procurement, stock planning, inventory tracking, expiry management, and client fulfilment.
- Create systems to improve visibility of stock, demand, expiry, and product profitability.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend practical solutions.
- Improve coordination between sales, procurement, operations, finance, and clients.
- Build scalable processes as Snackit’s Direct Supplies business grows.
End-to-End Ownership
The person will be expected to take ownership of the complete cycle:

Ideal Candidate
· 0–6 years of experience in product management, supply chain, FMCG, B2B sales, institutional sales, category management, procurement, or a related field. Freshers with strong interest in product management, supply chain, inventory, and business operations are also welcome to apply.
· Experience in FMCG, food & beverage, pantry supplies, vending, hospitality, or corporate supply business is preferred.
· Strong understanding of inventory, demand planning, procurement, and supply-chain processes.
· Strong commercial and margin-management mindset.
· Good negotiation and client-management skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
· Good knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets and reporting.
· Ability to work with multiple teams and manage end-to-end responsibilities.
· Willingness to meet clients and visit client locations when required.
· Strong ownership, accountability, and ability to work independently.
