We are currently seeking a Preservation Incharge , to join our team based in MMY Dahej, Gujarat.

Job Purpose:

The Preservation Incharge is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and controlling preservation activities for all materials, equipment, fabricated modules, and components stored or handled in the modular manufacturing yard. The role ensures that assets are protected from corrosion, contamination, deterioration, mechanical damage, and environmental exposure in line with project specifications, manufacturer recommendations, and company preservation procedures.

Job Role:

Preservation Planning and Execution

- Plan and implement preservation activities for incoming materials, fabricated structures, mechanical/electrical equipment, instruments, and modules.
- Ensure all preservation requirements are identified from project specifications, vendor manuals, and client standards.
- Prepare preservation schedules, work plans, checklists, and inspection routines for stored assets.
- Coordinate preservation requirements for short-term, long-term, and pre-dispatch storage conditions.
- Ensure preservation activities are carried out on time and as per approved procedures.

Equipment and Material Preservation

- Carry out and supervise preservation of rotating and static equipment, electrical panels, instruments, piping spools, structural items, valves, and packaged items.
- Monitor application of protective measures such as: anti-rust coatings and greasing - desiccants and humidity control - nitrogen blanketing where applicable - sealing, capping, wrapping, and protective covers - periodic rotation or maintenance of stored items - Verify that preservation measures remain effective during storage and handling.
- Ensure all preserved items are properly tagged, identified, and recorded.

Inspection and Monitoring

- Conduct routine inspections of stored materials and modules to identify corrosion, damage, moisture ingress, deterioration, or contamination.
- Monitor storage conditions such as temperature, humidity, cleanliness, drainage, and ventilation.
- Coordinate corrective actions for any preservation deficiencies immediately.




- Maintain preservation status of all items through regular surveillance and reporting.
- Ensure preservation checklists and inspection logs are updated accurately.

Coordination and Interface Management

- Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, fabrication, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and logistics teams for preservation requirements.
- Liaise with vendors, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors regarding preservation standards and equipment handling.
- Support the movement, packing, unpacking, and dispatch of preserved items without damage.
- Interface with HSE team to ensure safe handling of preservation chemicals and materials.
- Coordinate with quality control and client representatives during preservation inspections and audits.

Documentation and Reporting

- Maintain preservation registers, inspection reports, log sheets, and certification records.
- Track preservation status of equipment and materials from receipt to installation/dispatch.
- Prepare reports on preservation activities, non-conformances, corrective actions, and outstanding issues.
- Ensure availability of records for client audits, QA/QC reviews, and internal inspections.
- Support material traceability and documentation control for all preserved assets.

Safety and Compliance

- Ensure preservation activities are carried out in compliance with HSE requirements and site procedures.
- Enforce safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals, coatings, and preservation consumables.
- Ensure proper PPE is used during preservation and inspection activities.
- Identify and report unsafe storage or handling conditions immediately.
- Promote good housekeeping and fire prevention practices in storage and preservation areas.

HSE Responsibilities

- Ensure preservation materials and chemicals are used safely and as per approved procedures.
- Maintain safe storage of flammable, corrosive, and hazardous preservation substances.
- Ensure PPE compliance during preservation and inspection works.
- Support emergency preparedness, spill control, and housekeeping in preservation areas.
- Report unsafe conditions, damaged packaging, leaks, and contamination risks promptly.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Zero damage or deterioration of preserved items due to poor preservation.
- Compliance with preservation schedule and inspection frequency.
- Accuracy and completeness of preservation records.
- Number of non-conformances identified and closed on time.
- Reduction in corrosion, contamination, and rework during storage/dispatch.




- Timely preservation readiness for dispatch or installation

About you:

We love to hear from you and how you match with this position. To be successful in this mission you should consider the following requirements:

- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
- Certification or training in preservation, corrosion control, warehouse management, or QA/QC is an advantage.
- Knowledge of industrial storage and preservation standards preferred.
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in preservation, warehouse management, material handling, QA/QC, or modular fabrication yard operations.
- Experience in preservation of mechanical equipment, structural items, electrical/instrument equipment, and packaged modules.
- Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, power, construction, or modular fabrication industry preferred.

Skills and Competencies

- Strong understanding of preservation methods and storage best practices.
- Knowledge of corrosion prevention, humidity control, packaging, and equipment care.
- Ability to read vendor manuals, preservation procedures, and project specifications.
- Strong inspection, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple items and priorities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and inventory/preservation tracking systems
