Role Description The Lead Barista / Coffee Curator is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad. This role involves overseeing daily café operations, including preparing and serving a variety of coffee beverages, managing inventory of coffee and related supplies, and ensuring equipment is properly maintained and calibrated. The Lead Barista / Coffee Curator will guide guests through coffee selections, share product knowledge, and curate coffee experiences that highlight VCL’s instant coffee and related offerings. This position also includes training and mentoring baristas, maintaining quality and consistency in beverage preparation, implementing hygiene and safety standards, and collaborating with management on menu development and promotional activities.

Qualifications

Strong coffee preparation skills, including experience as a barista and familiarity with brewing methods, espresso-based drinks, and coffee tasting.

Customer service and hospitality skills, with the ability to engage guests, manage orders efficiently,



and handle feedback professionally.

Operational skills, including basic inventory management, cash handling, and adherence to hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety standards.

Leadership and team coordination abilities, including training junior staff, organizing shifts, and supporting a collaborative, inclusive work environment.

Good communication skills in English; additional local language proficiency is an advantage.

Prior experience in a café, coffee shop, or specialty beverage setting; experience with coffee curation or sensory evaluation is a plus.

Basic understanding of coffee origins, roasting profiles, and flavor notes, with interest in continuous learning about coffee.

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform hands-on tasks in a fast-paced environment; flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
