URGENT HIRING – CONSULTANT ENT SURGEON

POSITION

Consultant ENT Surgeon (Otorhinolaryngologist)

QUALIFICATION

• MBBS

• MS / DNB ENT (Otorhinolaryngology)

• Valid State Medical Council Registration

EXPERIENCE

• Consultant: Minimum 2–5 years post-MS/DNB experience

• Senior Consultant: Minimum 8–10 years post-specialisation experience

• Fellowship in Otology, Neurotology, Rhinology, Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Head & Neck Surgery, Sleep Medicine or Cochlear Implant Surgery will be an added advantage

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct ENT OPD consultations for adult and paediatric patients

• Diagnose and manage disorders of the ear, nose, paranasal sinuses, throat, larynx, head and neck

• Manage hearing loss, vertigo, tinnitus, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, nasal obstruction, tonsillitis, voice and swallowing disorders

• Manage ENT IPD patients and provide post-operative care

• Perform ENT surgeries as per expertise, including tympanoplasty, mastoidectomy, myringotomy, septoplasty, FESS, turbinate reduction, tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy

• Perform microlaryngeal procedures, vocal cord procedures and tracheostomy as per expertise

• Manage head & neck masses, salivary gland conditions and ENT-related tumour cases as per expertise

• Manage ENT emergencies including airway obstruction, severe epistaxis, foreign bodies, deep neck infections and facial trauma

• Provide airway management and participate in emergency/code blue response

• Evaluate hearing and balance disorders and interpret audiometry/vestibular tests

• Coordinate with audiologists regarding hearing aids and cochlear implant patients





• Evaluate and manage snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea in coordination with relevant specialists

• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with Intensivists, Pulmonologists, Neurologists, Oncologists, Speech Therapists and Audiologists

• Maintain complete and accurate clinical documentation

• Ensure informed consent and medico-legal compliance for procedures

• Follow NABH, NMC, infection control and antibiotic stewardship protocols

KEY SKILLS

• Strong ENT diagnostic and surgical skills

• Expertise in endoscopic ENT procedures

• Good head & neck evaluation and surgical skills

• Strong airway management and emergency ENT care

• Ability to interpret audiometry and vestibular investigations

• Excellent patient counselling and communication

• Strong clinical decision-making and multidisciplinary teamwork

WORKING PATTERN

• OPD & IPD coverage

• Operation Theatre coverage

• Emergency ENT and airway management

• On-call duties as per hospital roster

• Participation in departmental meetings and quality initiatives

HOSPITAL DEVELOPMENT

• Contribute to development of comprehensive ENT services

• Support specialty clinics such as Hearing & Audiology, Vertigo, Sinus & Allergy, Voice & Swallowing, Sleep Apnoea, Paediatric ENT and Head & Neck Oncology

• Participate in hearing screening camps and community health programmes

• Develop referral relationships with physicians, paediatricians, pulmonologists, neurologists and audiologists

• Contribute to growth in ENT OPD, surgical procedures and specialty services
