Job Description: Manager/Asst Manager Purchase
STP / Pumping Station Project Sites

About the Role
This position will be responsible for end-to-end procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for the execution of STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) and Pumping Station projects at the site. The role requires close coordination with head office engineering teams to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality-compliant material availability. Good technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation machinery is necessary and will be considered key skill. Negotiation skills along with basic financing knowhow of Letter of credit and bank guarantees, bill discounting is necessary.

Responsibilities
Identify capex material requirements in coordination with design engineering departments
Prepare and process purchase requisitions/indents for civil, mechanical, electrical, and piping items (pipes, valves, pumps, cement, steel, aggregates, fittings, cables, etc.).




Source and identify local/regional vendors and suppliers near the project site to minimize lead time and freight cost.
Obtain and compare quotations, negotiate rates, credit terms, and delivery schedules; prepare comparative statements for approval.
Recent vendor development, brand comparison on techno commercials aspects.
Release Purchase Orders / Work Orders as per approved budgets and company procurement policy.
Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery of materials to site, tracking pending orders and expediting critical/urgent items.
Complete end to end responsibility of material procurement, transit, insurance and billing.
Stock statement preparation for submission on monthly basis
Maintain vendor database, rate contracts, and price history for the site/project.
Coordinate with accounts/finance team for vendor payments, invoice verification, and resolution of billing discrepancies.
Ensure statutory compliance (GST, e-way bills, purchase documentation) for all site purchases.
