ROLE OVERVIEW

Happence is developing a custom digital platform that brings together assessments, wearable and device data, AI tools, and external integrations to deliver a seamless experience for programme participants and administrators. We are looking for a Senior Tech Lead to own our technology strategy and oversee the development of this platform end to end, ensuring the build is robust, scalable, secure and aligned with our product and programme requirements.
The successful candidate will act as the technical owner and internal point of accountability, working closely with external development partners while keeping timelines, technical decisions, quality, and deliverables on track. The immediate priority is to lead the custom app development programme, currently expected to run over approximately 6 to 8 months.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the complete development of the Happence custom app, covering architecture, development,
testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.
• Provide technical leadership across backend systems, databases, APIs, integrations, and overall




application architecture.
• Work closely with external development partners to define requirements, review technical approaches, monitor progress, and ensure delivery against agreed timelines, challenging proposed approaches where they do not meet requirements.
• Review and audit code, documentation, architecture, and development practices, and establish
standards for development, testing, security, data management, and deployment.
• Oversee integrations with external systems, APIs, assessment platforms, wearable and device data, and AI tools across the Happence ecosystem.
• Identify technical risks early, recommend solutions or alternatives, and translate business and product
requirements into practical technical decisions.
• Collaborate with project , programme, operations teams, and mentor future technology team members as the organisation scales.
