About the Role

Applix is looking for an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team full-time and support a large-scale enterprise setting at a client location in Bangalore.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role for an experienced DBA who has operated mission-critical Microsoft SQL Server environments and is comfortable taking ownership of performance, availability, security, disaster recovery, and production support.

You will work closely with Applix, client infrastructure, cloud, application, and engineering teams to manage and modernize database environments spanning on-premises and Microsoft Azure infrastructure.

The position requires 5 days per week onsite at the client location in Bangalore and may include on-call support and planned weekend maintenance.

What You'll Do

SQL Server Administration
Administer and support enterprise Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2019, 2022, and newer environments.




Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management.
Design and manage backup, restore, recovery, and database maintenance strategies.
Ensure availability, integrity, reliability, and performance of production databases.
Troubleshoot complex production database incidents and provide L2/L3 support.
Performance Tuning & Optimization
Diagnose and resolve SQL Server performance issues involving queries, execution plans, indexes, locking, blocking, memory, CPU, storage, and I/O.
Analyze execution plans and develop effective indexing and query optimization strategies.
Perform proactive database health checks, capacity planning, and performance analysis.
Partner with application teams to improve schema, query, and database design.
High Availability & Disaster Recovery
Design, implement, administer, and troubleshoot SQL Server Always On Availability Groups.
