Role Description:
The Microservices Platform Engineer designs and supports the container orchestration and runtime environments that power Carrier’s cloud-native applications. This role focuses on enabling teams to deploy, scale, and operate microservices efficiently using standardized, automated, and secure patterns. The engineer partners closely with Cloud Platform, DevOps, and Security teams to deliver a up-to-date application platform that reduces friction, increases reliability,



and accelerates innovation across AWS and GCP environments.
Role Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain container orchestration environments (EKS, GKE, ECS, Cloud Run) for microservice workloads.
Develop Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to automate provisioning of clusters, networking, and service integrations.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Flux) to enable automated deployments.
Establish observability frameworks—monitoring, logging, and tracing—for microservices performance and reliability.
Optimize platform performance, cost, and scalability through right-sizing and automated lifecycle management.
Partner with application and DevOps teams to onboard services to the platform using standardized templates and best practices.
Enforce platform security policies for container images, secrets, and runtime access.
Contribute to documentation, standards, and reusable modules that support
