Senior Accountant Job Description

Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee our daily financial operations. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Tally Prime and has deep expertise in managing the entire procurement and billing cycle—from raising and tracking Purchase Orders (POs) to processing vendor invoices and generating final sales invoices.

Key Responsibilities:1. Tally Prime Operations & Bookkeeping
- Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date financial records using Tally Prime.
- Manage day-to-day accounting entries including journals, receipts, payments, and ledger scrutiny.
- Prepare and present periodic financial statements, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.

2. POs, Invoicing, and Inventory
- Oversee the procure-to-pay (P2P) cycle: raise, track, and close Purchase Orders (POs) accurately in Tally.
- Manage the 3-way matching process: verify POs against inward material (Receipt Notes)



and supplier invoices before processing payments.
- Raise accurate Sales Invoices, delivery challans, and generate E-way bills in a timely manner.
- Track "Purchase Bills Pending" to monitor committed cash flow and manage vendor outstandings.

3. Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Reconcile vendor ledgers, resolve invoice discrepancies, and ensure timely vendor payments.
- Follow up on accounts receivable, manage aging reports, and ensure timely collections.
- Execute bank reconciliations on a daily/weekly basis to ensure absolute accuracy of transactions.

4. Statutory Compliances
- Manage end-to-end statutory compliances including GST filings (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) and ITC matching.
- Handle TDS and TCS calculations, deduction, payment, and quarterly return filings.
- Coordinate with internal/external auditors and assist in audits by providing required documentation.
