A manufacturing accountant manages financial records, analyzes production costs, monitors inventory, and supports strategic decision-making in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Cost Analysis and Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and report weekly, monthly, and quarterly gross margins for products and production lines, monitoring costs of goods sold to provide actionable feedback to management.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, perform reconciliations, and ensure the validity and accuracy of stock levels.
- Financial Transactions: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries within the plant or manufacturing unit.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in month-end closing, prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support operational and strategic decisions.
- System and Software Management: Collaborate with IT departments to resolve system issues, utilize accounting software and spreadsheets for cost decisions, and maintain production and financial systems.
- Compliance and Controls:



Implement internal controls, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Operational Support: Analyze production costs, product line profitability, and provide recommendations for efficiency improvements.

Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; advanced degrees (MBA)
- Experience: Prior experience in accounting, finance, or cost accounting within a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally), Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, GAAP, and financial reporting standards.
