for Training & Assessment Manager – Deck side

Education Qualification: Marine Qualification (BSC Nautical Science). Chief Officer certificate.

Experience: 8 to 10 years

Job Responsibilities

· Identification of training needs for seafarers at various ranks based on the feed-back from various stakeholders viz. Master & Chief Engineers, Trainers and Company representatives visiting the vessels.

· Planning and arranging training programs for the seafarers of various ranks, as per identified training needs and assessment, post training.

· Review of EOT (Effectiveness of Training) comments by various stake holders and actions based on same.

· Structuring and time to time re-structuring of various training programs based on the feedback received from various stakeholders.

· Devise & design new training modules based on the technological & regulatory advancements.

· Pre-employment Assessment of Deck Officers.

· Assessment of Deck Officers due for their promotions.

· Overall management of shipboard training of seafarers as designated Company Training Officer for Deck Officers (CTO–D).





· Keep a tab on the feedbacks received time to time from Ops/ Tech/ HSEQ/ Masters/ Ch. Engineer on the performance of the seafarers, who have undergone various training programs and work upon the same, as and when required.

· Briefing of the Senior Officers, prior their joining the vessels.

· Evaluation of Training Log for Promotion for all Deck Officers.

· Co-ordination with Training Institutes / Trainers.

· Participation in Risk Assessment of Department.

· Course Design & Development.

· Interviews for selection of DNS & GP rating candidates.

· Any other work, as assigned by HOD.
