Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
- M.Tech/M.E. in Transportation Engineering / Highway Engineering / Traffic Engineering / Road Safety will be preferred.
- Certification/course in Road Safety Audit (RSA) from MoRTH/IAHE or other recognized institution will be an advantage.

Role Summary The Traffic Safety Engineer will be responsible for traffic engineering, road safety assessment, safety audits and implementation of road safety measures for highway projects in Assam. The role will involve identifying traffic and safety risks, recommending engineering interventions, reviewing traffic management arrangements and coordinating with the Highway/Design/Construction teams for implementation of safety measures.

Key Responsibilities

Traffic & Road Safety

- Conduct Road Safety Audits at different stages of highway projects,



including existing road, design, construction and pre-opening stages.
- Identify accident-prone locations / black spots and recommend appropriate engineering countermeasures.
- Review road geometry, intersections, junctions, median openings, pedestrian crossings, bus bays, truck lay-bys and access points from a road safety perspective..
- Recommend improvements in road signs, road markings, delineators, guardrails, crash barriers, rumble strips and other road furniture.
- Check compliance with applicable MoRTH, IRC and relevant road safety standards/guidelines.
- Robust knowledge of Highway Traffic Engineering and Road Safety Engineering.
- Practical experience in Road Safety Audit and Accident Investigation.

Preferred Experience

- National Highway / State Highway projects.
- Highway widening and rehabilitation projects.
- EPC / HAM / Authority Engineer / Supervision Consultancy projects.
- Road Safety Audit and Black Spot Improvement projects.
- Traffic Management Plans for highway construction.
- Assam/Northeast India highway projects will be an added advantage.
