Role Description The Staff Accountant is a full-time role based in Bengaluru, supporting accounting and financial control across the group's India and Malaysia operations. The role carries approximately 25% international travel, primarily to Malaysia, to review local books and work directly with the team on site.

Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining general ledger accounts, recording journal entries, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. The role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, reconciling bank and account balances, and supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Accountant will help ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards, while assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.



The role also includes collaborating with cross-functional teams, responding to audit requests, and contributing to process improvements in the finance function.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of accounting experience, with strong knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger management, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
- Proficiency with accounting and ERP software, as well as spreadsheet tools such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Hands-on SAP experience is essential — transaction processing, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis; a valid passport is required.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across locations and time zones.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA, CPA, CMA) are an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Prior experience in a corporate or technology-driven organization is beneficial, especially in fast-paced growth environments.
