: Sr. Java Developer with Cobol experience

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Java Developer with strong expertise in Java, AWT, Swing and working knowledge of COBOL. This role involves working on enterprise applications within the insurance or financial services domain, with a focus on policy administration systems.

The candidate will also be responsible for supporting and integrating legacy systems built on COBOL with modern Java-based applications. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-impact insurance technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications using Java Swing.
- Experience in COBOL-based legacy systems, including maintenance, enhancements, and integration with modern applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Contribute to API development and integration efforts.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure best practices are followed.
- Will be working in Agile development environments.
- Will be working in Insurance domain / Financial Services.





Required Skills & Experience

- Strong experience in software development using Java.
- Working knowledge of COBOL programming and legacy system support.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Domain experience in Insurance or Financial Services.
- Hands-on experience with Policy Administration Systems (PAS).
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Robust team collaboration and communication skills.
- Must have experience in Java Swing, Microservices, Spring Boot, and API Management.
- Experience with SQL, API tools (Postman / REST Assured).
- Familiarity with JIRA, ServiceNow.

Nice‑to‑Have Skills

- Experience with other Policy Administrative Systems.

Education B.Tech / B.E / MCA / M.Tech or equivalent.
