Role Description The Software Engineer in Test role at OptionX is a full-time, on-site position based in Gurugram. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks for back-end services and trading infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing and reviewing testable code, building automated test suites, creating performance and reliability tests, and collaborating closely with software engineers and product teams to ensure system quality.

The Software

Engineer in Test will analyze defects, improve test coverage, refine CI/CD pipelines,



and support release validation to maintain high standards for reliability and performance. The role also requires documenting test strategies and actively contributing to continuous improvement of development and testing practices.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming for building and maintaining automated tests and tools.
- Experience with test automation tools, frameworks (e.g., Playwright, JUnit, or similar), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Familiarity with performance, reliability, and integration testing for high-throughput systems.
- Hands-on experience with manual and regression testing, including designing and executing test cases, validating end-to-end workflows, identifying defects, and ensuring fixes do not introduce regressions across releases.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a quick-paced environment, communicate clearly, and take ownership of quality-focused initiatives.
- Exposure to financial markets or trading systems is a plus but not required.
