Job Title: Senior UX Engineer

Sub-Function: AI Engineering

Location: Bengaluru, India

About the Role:

- Senior UX Engineer will be a core contributor within the India COE, responsible for designing and building intuitive, high-quality interfaces that make complex AI applications, models, and data workflows understandable and usable blending design sensibility with hands-on front-end engineering.
- This role rapidly prototypes through "vibe coding," hardens the best ideas into production React applications, and creates compelling visualizations that turn model outputs and analytical results into transparent, interactive experiences. The UI/UX Engineer partners closely with Data Science, AI Engineering, Analytics Engineering, and business partners, executing end-to-end with limited oversight while contributing to shared component libraries, design systems, and front-end standards.

Scope of Responsibility:

UX Design & Product Thinking:

- Partner with Data Science, AI Engineering, and business partners to translate complex AI workflows and model outputs into clear, intuitive user journeys and interaction models
- Conduct user research, journey mapping, and usability testing to ground design decisions in real user needs and measurable outcomes
- Produce wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that communicate intent and de-risk decisions before engineering investment
- Design for explain ability and trust surfacing model confidence, uncertainty, provenance,



and human-in-the-loop controls so users understand and can act on AI outputs
- Apply accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive-design principles so interfaces are usable across abilities and contexts
- Advocate for the user throughout delivery, balancing desirability, feasibility, and business value.

Front-End Engineering (React & Modern Web):

- Build responsive, performant, production-grade web applications in React and TypeScript, translating designs into clean, maintainable components
- Apply modern front-end patterns component composition, state management, hooks, and design tokens to build scalable UIs
- Integrate front-ends with backend and model-serving APIs (REST, GraphQL, streaming), handling asynchronous data and loading, error, and real-time states gracefully
- Write clean, well-tested, reviewable front-end code with unit and component tests, and participate actively in code review
- Optimize for performance and perceived latency : bundle size, rendering, and responsiveness especially for data-heavy AI interfaces
- Ensure cross-browser and cross-device consistency.

Data Visualization for AI & Analytics:

- Design and build compelling, interactive visualizations that turn model outputs, metrics, and analytical results into clear, actionable insight
- Select the right visualization for the question from standard charts to bespoke custom visuals using libraries such as D3, Recharts, Plotly, or equivalent
- Build dashboards and exploratory interfaces that let users drill into AI workflows, model behavior, and pipeline outputs
- Visualize model explain ability and evaluation feature importance, drift, calibration, and confidence in ways non-technical users can interpret
- Handle large and streaming datasets in the browser with performant rendering and thoughtful aggregation
- Establish visual-encoding, color, and accessibility standards for data-heavy interfaces

Rapid Prototyping & Vibe Coding:

- Rapidly prototype concepts through "vibe coding" using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, v0, or equivalent) to move from idea to working interface in hours, not weeks
- Turn ambiguous problem statements and rough sketches into clickable, testable prototypes that align stakeholders quickly




- Iterate fast on feedback, treating early prototypes as disposable experiments while capturing the patterns worth productionizing
- Use AI tools thoughtfully — reviewing, refactoring, and hardening generated code to meet production quality and security standards
- Shorten the loop from concept to validated experience, bridging the gap between design and engineering

Design Systems, Quality & Collaboration:

- Contribute to and maintain a shared component library and design system that raise consistency and velocity across the COE
- Partner with Analytics Engineering and AI Engineering to connect interfaces to governed data and model-serving layers

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction, computer science, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
- 6+ years building production web applications, with a strong portfolio spanning both UX design and front-end engineering
- Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript, plus modern HTML, CSS, and front-end tooling
- Demonstrated experience building interactive data visualizations with libraries such as D3, Recharts, Plotly, or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development / "vibe coding" tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, v0) to accelerate prototyping and delivery
- Solid grounding in UX fundamentals — user research, interaction design, information architecture, and usability testing
- Experience designing and building interfaces for complex, data-rich, or AI/ML applications
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive, cross-device design
- Ability to communicate design decisions clearly and collaborate across design, data, and engineering
- Experience working in a structured delivery environment with sprint cadences and cross-functional collaboration

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in a regulated industry (life sciences, healthcare, financial services) where usability, accessibility, and trust are subject to scrutiny
- Experience designing AI/ML product experiences — model explainability, human-in-the-loop, or generative-AI interfaces
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma and design-to-code workflows
- Experience contributing to or owning a design system or component library
- Familiarity with connecting front-ends to model-serving or streaming APIs, and with real-time/interactive dashboards
- Experience working in a global capability center (GCC) or center of excellence (COE) environment
