Senior Network Security Engineer — Palo Alto / Check Point
Long-term contract | Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore or Chennai
We are recruiting on behalf of a global payments technology firm expanding its Enterprise Perimeter Security team.
This is a design and engineering role rather than an operations seat. You will own technical designs for project and programme level initiatives across next generation perimeter security infrastructure, working alongside architecture, engineering and wider information security teams. Expect to define engineering standards, forecast platform capacity ahead of demand, and mentor engineers around you.
What the client is looking for
- 8-10 years hands-on Palo Alto / Panorama
- 8-10 years hands-on Checkpoint
- Deep grounding in firewalls, intrusion systems, networking, databases, HA/DR, virtual systems and PCI compliance
- Public cloud experience, Azure or AWS
- Minimum 2 years Python / Ansible scripting
- Configuration management tooling: Terraform, Chef, Puppet or Ansible
- DevOps tooling: GitLab and GitHub
- Recent experience leading the technical design of enterprise network security systems or comparable perimeter security projects
- Experience supporting 24x7x365 high availability environments at Tier 3
- Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience with 5+ years in a relevant role
Useful, not essential
- CISSP, CEH, or engineering and design level certification from Palo Alto or Checkpoint
- Background in e-commerce or a client transaction environment
How the role works You will run several technology projects at once, with the autonomy to prioritise, unblock and make calls without waiting for direction. The team is small and technically robust, so you will spend as much time explaining design decisions to senior stakeholders as you will building. Around 10% travel.
