Senior FRAMECAD / Cold-Formed Steel Detailing Lead

About the Role

We are a U.S.-based light-gauge steel framing company specializing in digitally designed and manufactured framing systems for single-family homes, ADUs, small residential buildings and related projects.

We are looking for an experienced Senior FRAMECAD / Cold-Formed Steel Detailer to become the technical lead of a growing detailing team based in India.

This is not simply a drafting position. We are looking for someone who can understand architectural and structural documents, develop efficient cold-formed steel framing solutions, identify and resolve issues before fabrication, and ultimately supervise and check the work of junior detailers.

The successful candidate will work directly with our U.S. design, engineering and manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities

● Develop complete FRAMECAD models from architectural and structural drawings.

● Produce wall, floor and roof framing models for U.S. residential projects.

● Create panel drawings, assembly drawings, fabrication documentation and production-ready information.

● Review architectural drawings and identify missing information, conflicts and constructability issues.

● Coordinate with U.S.-based project managers, designers and structural engineers.

● Understand and correctly implement engineering details and structural requirements.

● Optimize framing for efficient manufacturing, assembly and material utilization.

● Review and QA/QC models and drawings prepared by other detailers.

● Help establish company modeling, detailing and documentation standards.





● Train and supervise junior FRAMECAD detailers as the team grows.

● Participate in online project meetings with the U.S. team and communicate technical questions clearly.

Required Experience

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

● 5+ years of light-gauge steel / cold-formed steel detailing experience preferred.

● Strong working knowledge of FRAMECAD Structure and/or FRAMECAD Detailer.

● Experience producing fabrication-ready FRAMECAD models.

● Strong understanding of light-gauge steel framing systems.

● Ability to interpret architectural and structural construction documents.

● Experience with wall panels, floor joists, roof framing, headers, openings, connections and structural details.

● Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.

● Strong understanding of constructability and how framing is actually assembled in the field.

● Experience reviewing or checking the work of other detailers.

U.S. Construction Experience

Experience working on U.S. projects is strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate will have familiarity with:

● U.S. single-family residential construction.

● Wood and/or light-gauge steel platform framing concepts.

● U.S. architectural and structural drawing conventions.

● Imperial dimensions — feet and inches.

● Typical U.S. residential foundations, wall systems, floors and roof construction.

● IRC/IBC and U.S.



cold-formed steel standards.

● Working with U.S.-based architects, engineers, contractors or manufacturers.

Candidates with significant experience working for U.S., Canadian, Australian, UK or other Western construction companies are encouraged to apply.

Communication

- Strong spoken and written English is important for this position.
- The Senior Detailer will communicate directly with our U.S. team and may participate in meetings with engineers, architects and project managers.
- We are looking for someone who is comfortable asking questions, explaining technical issues and proposing solutions rather than simply following drafting instructions.
