Role Description The Senior Automation Quality Assurance Engineer will design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts for web and mobile applications. This full-time, in office role in Chandigarh involves collaborating closely with development, product, and DevOps teams to integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines and ensure high-quality releases. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing requirements, defining test strategies, creating and executing test cases, logging and tracking defects, and continuously improving test coverage and efficiency.

The engineer will also mentor junior QA team members, review test documentation, and participate in code and test plan reviews. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying quality risks, optimizing processes, and championing best practices in test automation.

Qualifications





- Strong proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar), with the ability to design and maintain robust automation suites.
- Hands-on experience with programming or scripting languages commonly used in automation (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python, or C#) and version control systems such as Git.
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, performance, and API testing, as well as test planning and test case design.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps), and familiarity with build and deployment processes in agile environments.
- Ability to analyze complex requirements, identify edge cases, and translate them into effective automated and manual test scenarios.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a focus on root-cause analysis and prevention of recurring defects.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities, including working with cross-functional teams and mentoring less experienced QA engineers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in a senior or lead QA automation role, preferably in a product or custom application development setting.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, or similar) and documentation of test results and metrics.
