Job Title: SAP Finance and Costing Lead

Overview

The SAP FICO Lead will lead the design, configuration, implementation, optimization, and support of SAP Finance and Controlling processes for pharmaceutical business operations. The role owns end-to-end FICO solution delivery across financial accounting, controlling, product costing, statutory compliance, financial reporting, and integration with procurement, sales, manufacturing, quality, warehouse, and third-party systems.

The role will work with Finance, Accounts, Costing, Taxation, Procurement, Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, IT, and external partners to support SAP S/4HANA transformation, RISE migration, process standardization, automation, audit readiness, digital finance initiatives, and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead SAP FICO functional consulting, solution design, configuration, implementation, and support across business units and manufacturing locations.
- Own core SAP FI processes, including:
- General Ledger (GL)
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Asset Accounting
- Bank Accounting
- Tax Accounting
- Closing Cockpit
- Financial Reporting

- Lead SAP CO processes, including:

- Cost Center Accounting
- Profit Center Accounting
- Internal Orders
- Product Costing
- COPA
- Material Ledger
- Profitability Analysis

- Work with Finance and Costing teams to strengthen standard costing, actual costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost visibility.
- Ensure strong integration of FICO with MM, SD, PP, QM, PM, WM/EWM, taxation, banking, and other critical applications.




- Support Indian statutory and regulatory requirements, including GST, TDS, TCS, e-invoicing, e-way bill, audit schedules, internal controls, and financial compliance reporting.
- Lead the FICO workstream for SAP S/4HANA transformation, SAP RISE migration, finance process improvement, and digital finance initiatives.
- Drive standardization of finance and controlling processes across plants, business units, and legal entities while improving governance and control effectiveness.
- Prepare and review functional specifications, process flows, configuration documents, test scripts, user manuals, SOPs, validation documents, and training materials.
- Coordinate with ABAP, Basis, integration, security, and infrastructure teams for developments, interfaces, enhancements, authorizations, and issue resolution.
- Support integrations through IDOCs, APIs, SAP CPI, bank interfaces, tax interfaces, middleware, and third-party application connections.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing support, ensuring timely issue resolution, data accuracy, and business continuity.
- Drive master data governance for GL accounts, cost centers, profit centers, internal orders, assets, tax codes, cost objects, and related finance master data.
- Mentor junior SAP FICO team members, provide user training, and build internal SAP Finance capability.
- Support audit and compliance activities.




- Support Finance and Costing reporting for analytics applications and SAP.
- Support Material Ledger activities.

Required Qualifications

- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
- Minimum 10 years of SAP FICO experience with hands-on configuration, implementation, support, and solution ownership.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in the Finance and Controlling domain.

- SAP CO
- Product Costing
- Material Ledger
- COPA
- Asset Accounting
- Taxation
- Financial Closing Processes

- Experience in SAP S/4HANA Finance, Universal Journal, SAP RISE migration, and large-scale SAP transformation programs.
- Strong understanding of Indian statutory requirements, audit-related finance controls, and compliance-driven operating environments.
- Good understanding of pharma manufacturing, batch costing, process orders, production variances, inventory valuation, and audit readiness.
- Experience with cross-module integration involving MM, SD, PP, QM, PM, WM/EWM, and external applications.
- Ability to translate business requirements into SAP solutions, functional specifications, process flows, test scenarios, and user documentation.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with Finance leadership, plant finance teams, business users, auditors, consultants, and IT teams.
- Basic ABAP debugging awareness and ability to work with technical teams for issue analysis and development validation.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and team leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- ICWA / CMA qualification.
- Experience with finance and costing reporting for analytics applications and SAP.
