A Quality Engineer designs, implements, and monitors quality standards and control systems to ensure products, processes, and services are protected, reliable, and defect-free. They bridge the gap between operational output and customer expectations by preventing errors, troubleshooting malfunctions, and driving continuous improvement.
Core Responsibilities
Standards Development: Define and maintain rigorous quality protocols (like ISO 9001) that processes and finished goods must meet.
Testing and Inspection: Design and execute test plans, analyze metrics, and oversee the inspection of incoming materials and end-products.
Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality issues to find the source of defects, subsequently managing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Compliance & Documentation: Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), test cases,



and quality reports to ensure all regulatory and safety standards are satisfied.
Key Skills Required
Analytical & Math Skills: Proficient in statistical process control (SPC) and data interpretation.
Problem-Solving: Expertise in methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA, and 8D reporting.
Communication & Collaboration: Ability to influence cross-functional teams (from engineering to suppliers) without conflict.
Detail-Oriented: A methodical mindset focused on defect prevention rather than just detection.
