Position: Dy. Manager/Manager - Purchase

Responsibilities:
Engineering Procurement
Procure mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and MRO items
Pumps, compressors, valves, heat exchangers
Motors, cables, panels, transformers
Instruments (flow, pressure, temperature, control systems)
Handle procurement of spares for plant maintenance and shutdowns
Manage capex/project procurement (recent plant / expansion)
Vendor Development & Management
Develop OEMs, authorized dealers, and fabricators
Evaluate vendors based on technical capability, quality, and cost
Conduct technical discussions with suppliers along with engineering team
Maintain approved vendor list (AVL)
Techno-Commercial Evaluation
Analyze technical specifications, drawings, BOQs
Prepare comparative statements (techno-commercial)
Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and payment terms
Finalize purchase orders and contracts
Project Procurement (Capex)
Handle procurement for EPC projects, plant expansion, and installation
Coordinate with project, engineering, and site teams
Ensure timely delivery aligned with project schedules
Cost Optimization
Identify cost-saving opportunities through:
Vendor development
Import substitution




Standardization of materials
Monitor market trends for engineering equipment
Inventory & Maintenance Support
Ensure availability of critical spares to avoid breakdowns
Coordinate with maintenance team for planning shutdown materials
Optimize inventory levels of engineering items
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with technical standards and safety norms
Manage documentation: PO, drawings, inspection reports
Handle import documentation if required
Cross-functional Coordination
Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Projects, Stores, Finance
Resolve technical and commercial issues with vendors

Required Skills
Robust understanding of engineering equipment & plant machinery
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
Solid negotiation and vendor management skills
Knowledge of SAP MM / ERP systems
Familiarity with EPC/project procurement cycles
Problem-solving and decision-making skills

Required Qualification: - B.E/B.Tech - Mechanical

Salary: - Upto 20.00 LPA
