Role Summary
We are looking for a Product Business Analyst who will act as the critical bridge between our Business, Product, and Technology teams.
You will take ambiguous business problems from Risk, Collections, Operations, Finance, or Marketing and turn them into clear, structured, implementable product requirements. That means understanding not just what a stakeholder is asking for, but why, identifying the gaps in the ask, designing the right process or product flow, and documenting it precisely enough that Engineering can build it correctly the first time.
This role suits someone who can think like a business stakeholder, structure problems like a product professional, and communicate like a technology partner someone who doesn't just take requirements at face value, but interrogates them, refines them, and owns the outcome.
Why This Role Matters
- You will directly influence how credit risk, underwriting, fraud detection, and collections decisions are made across Taplend's lending book this is not a peripheral support function.
- You'll work at the intersection of three teams that often speak different languages (Business, Product, Technology), and be the person who makes sure nothing gets lost in translation.
- Poor requirements are one of the most expensive failure points in any tech-driven lending business get this right, and you materially reduce rework, delays, and costly production errors.
Key Responsibilities 1. Requirement Gathering & Business Understanding
- Engage with Business, Operations, Risk, Collections, Finance, Marketing and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and challenges
- Conduct structured requirement-gathering sessions and stakeholder discussions
- Understand the existing process, identify pain points, and determine the desired outcome
- Convert business problems into clearly defined product and functional requirements
- Ask relevant questions and challenge requirements where necessary to surface gaps, dependencies, or operational risks
- Conduct gap analysis between current and proposed processes
2. Business Process & Workflow Design
- Create detailed As-Is and To-Be process flows
- Map complete business and customer journeys end-to-end
- Define process steps, decision points, dependencies, and exception paths
- Identify opportunities for process automation and optimization
- Define business rules and operational workflows
- Document exception scenarios and escalation mechanisms
3. Wireframing & Product Requirement Design
- Create functional wireframes for web and mobile applications
- Translate business requirements into screen-level functional requirements
- Define user journeys and navigation flows
- Specify fields, validations, actions, dependencies, and expected system behaviour
- Collaborate with UI/UX teams wherever required
- Ensure wireframes accurately reflect the intended business process and user experience
- Use AI-assisted wireframing/design tools where useful to accelerate turnaround,
while ensuring output is reviewed and refined against actual business requirements
4. Business Logic & Functional Requirements
- Define detailed business rules and system logic
- Document conditions, validations, calculations, triggers, and outcomes
- Define positive, negative, and exception scenarios
- Prepare BRDs, FRDs, and user stories
- Define clear, testable acceptance criteria for every requirement
- Ensure requirements are complete, unambiguous, and technically implementable
5. Technology Team Coordination
- Act as the primary functional bridge between Business/Product and Technology
- Explain requirements and business logic clearly to developers and technical teams
- Clarify functional queries that arise during development
- Review technical implementation against approved requirements
- Coordinate with developers, QA, and other technology stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Ensure requirement changes are properly documented and communicated
- Track requirements through development, testing, UAT, and production deployment
6. Testing & UAT
- Prepare test scenarios and business test cases
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing with relevant business stakeholders
- Validate that developed functionality meets agreed business requirements
- Identify gaps, defects, and deviations from approved requirements
- Coordinate with Technology/QA on resolution
- Provide UAT sign-off recommendations following successful validation
7. Product & Process Improvement
- Analyse existing product and operational processes to identify inefficiencies
- Recommend process improvements, automation opportunities, and product enhancements
- Study user feedback and operational issues to identify recurring problems
- Work with Product and Business teams to prioritize improvements
- Support continuous enhancement of Taplend's digital lending platform
8. Documentation & Governance
- Maintain up-to-date BRDs, FRDs, process flows, wireframes, user stories, and requirement documents
- Maintain requirement trackers and implementation status
- Ensure proper version control of product documentation
- Document business decisions, assumptions, and dependencies
- Maintain a structured, accessible repository of product and process documentation
- Use AI tools responsibly to speed up documentation drafting, always reviewing and validating AI-generated content against actual stakeholder input before finalizing

Technical & Functional Skills
Must Have
- Solid business analysis and requirement-gathering skills
- Proven experience preparing BRD/FRD documents
- Robust understanding of business process mapping
- Experience creating wireframes and functional workflows
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent documentation skills — clear, precise, unambiguous
- Working understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology
- Experience working closely with Product and Technology teams
- Good understanding of web/mobile application functionality
- Basic understanding of APIs and system integrations
- Basic SQL/database understanding
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Working knowledge of AI tools for accelerating requirement analysis, process/framework design, and wireframing (e.g., ChatGPT/Claude for drafting BRDs/FRDs and user stories, AI-assisted wireframing tools such as Uizard or Figma AI, and AI-assisted diagramming in Miro/Whimsical) — candidates are expected to be comfortable using such tools to work faster and more efficiently, not to replace core BA judgment

- Understanding of payment gateway / banking integrations
- Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations
- Exposure to CRM, LOS, LMS, or other lending platforms
- Basic understanding of analytics and SQL
- Experience working in Agile product environments
Educational Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (B.Tech/B.E., BCA, MCA, B.Sc. CS/IT, or equivalent preferred)
- An MBA in Product Management, IT, Operations, or a related discipline will be an added advantage
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in Business Analysis, Product Analysis, Product Management, or Business Systems Analysis
- Candidates with experience in FinTech, NBFC, Banking, or Digital Lending will be preferred
Preferred Industry Background Candidates from the following industries will be preferred: NBFC, FinTech, Digital Lending, Banking, BFSI, SaaS/Product companies, and Consumer Technology.
Prior experience on digital lending, loan origination, credit assessment, collections, repayment, KYC, or financial technology platforms will be a strong advantage.
