Job Title: PostgreSQL Developer

This role combines database administration with database development, requiring strong skills in PostgreSQL, SQL, and database administration best practices.

Database Administration:

- Managing and monitoring PostgreSQL databases, including performance tuning,

backup and recovery, and security.
- Ensuring database availability and high performance.
- Implementing and maintaining database replication and high availability solutions.
- Participating in database schema design and development.

Development

- Developing and deploying SQL, PL/pgSQL, including stored procedures,

functions, triggers, and views.
- Writing and optimizing SQL queries.
- Plan and execute database migration projects
- Providing technical guidance to application developers on database-related issues.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.

- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL: including installation, configuration,

maintenance, and troubleshooting.




- Proficiency in SQL: including writing and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
- Experience with database administration tasks: such as backups, recovery,

security, and performance monitoring.
- Familiarity with database schema design and development: including normalization, indexing, and data modelling.
- Experience with database migration and upgrades: including migrating data between different database systems.
- Solid problem-solving and analytical skills: including the ability to identify and resolve database performance issues.
- Good communication and teamwork skills: including the ability to collaborate with other team members and provide technical guidance to application developers.
- Experience with other database technologies: Other relational databases such as Oracle and MSSQL will be beneficial.
