Role Description This is an on-site internship role for a Podcast Editor based in Chennai.
The Podcast
Editor will be responsible for editing audio recordings of sessions, interviews, and educational content, ensuring explicit sound quality and smooth flow. Day-to-day tasks include cutting and arranging audio clips, removing background noise and errors, adding intro and outro segments, and integrating music or sound effects where appropriate. The intern will collaborate with the content and training teams to align episodes with PGI’s mission and messaging,
prepare files for publishing on relevant platforms, and help maintain an organized audio archive. The role may also involve basic content planning support, suggesting improvements in format and listener experience.
Qualifications
- Audio editing skills using common digital audio workstations (e.g., Audacity, Adobe Audition, Reaper) and familiarity with formats suitable for podcast distribution.
- Basic sound engineering skills, including noise reduction, leveling, equalization, and ensuring consistent audio quality across episodes.
- Attention to detail in reviewing recordings, identifying errors or gaps, and ensuring smooth transitions and coherent storytelling.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple episodes, meet deadlines, and maintain a structured file system.
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work with trainers, hosts, and other team members, and openness to feedback.
- Interest in education, student development, or career guidance, with willingness to understand PGI’s values and target audience.
- Relevant coursework or prior experience in media, audio production, communications, or a related field is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Chennai for the duration of the internship.
