About the Role

Krishi GK is looking for an experienced Plant Tissue Culture Specialist to lead and support plant tissue culture activities, micropropagation, disease-free planting material development, and laboratory-based plant biotechnology initiatives.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical experience in tissue culture techniques and the ability to work in a controlled laboratory environment while contributing to large-scale and commercially viable plant propagation.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, execute, and monitor plant tissue culture and micropropagation activities.
- Develop and optimize protocols for meristem culture, embryo culture, haploid culture, and somatic embryogenesis.
- Manage plant regeneration, multiplication, rooting, hardening, and acclimatization processes.
- Conduct virus indexing and support the development of disease-free planting material.
- Maintain aseptic and contamination-free laboratory conditions.
- Prepare and optimize culture media and growth conditions.
- Monitor contamination, identify issues, and implement corrective measures.
- Maintain laboratory records, culture data, SOPs, and experimental reports.




- Support research and development activities related to plant propagation and biotechnology.
- Work closely with agricultural, horticultural, and R&D; teams.
- Contribute to scaling up tissue culture production and improving efficiency and quality.
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of laboratory equipment and materials.

Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong practical knowledge of plant tissue culture techniques.
- Expertise in micropropagation and plant regeneration.
- Knowledge of meristem, embryo, haploid, and somatic embryogenesis cultures.
- Experience in virus indexing and disease-free planting material.
- Strong understanding of plant growth regulators, culture media, and aseptic techniques.
- Laboratory management and troubleshooting skills.
- Good documentation and report-writing skills.
- Basic to good knowledge of MS Office, Excel, data management, and reporting.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
