Job Purpose The Manager - Plant HR & IR will be responsible for managing the complete HR function at the Kanpur Plant, ensuring effective manpower planning, employee engagement, industrial relations, statutory compliance, performance management, capability development and HR operations. The role will act as a strategic HR partner to the Plant Head and business leaders while ensuring a productive, compliant and employee-centric work workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic

- Partner with the Plant Head to align & drive HR & IR strategy initiatives.
- Drive manpower planning, workforce optimisation and succession planning for critical positions.
- Develop and implement employee engagement, retention and capability-building strategies.
- Identify people-related risks and provide proactive HR interventions.
- Drive HR process improvement, digitalization and standardization at the plant.
- Build an employee-centric culture aligned with organisational values.

Financial

- Manage and optimise plant manpower cost within approved budgets.
- Monitor permanent, contractual, overtime and other manpower-related costs.
- Support workforce productivity initiatives to improve cost efficiency.




- Ensure effective manpower deployment and minimise avoidable overtime and absenteeism costs.
- Track HR-related expenses and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
- Support cost-benefit analysis for HR & IR initiatives and employee welfare programs.

Operational

- Oversee management and compliance of contract labour.
- Manage end-to-end Plant HR operations including manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, attendance, payroll inputs and HRMS.
- Manage employee relations, industrial relations, grievances and disciplinary matters.
- Ensure 100% compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with TA for timely closure of plant manpower requirements.
- Drive PMS, training, employee engagement and welfare initiatives.
- Monitor attrition, absenteeism, overtime and manpower productivity.
- Prepare and review HR MIS, dashboards and plant HR analytics.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, EHS, Finance and Corporate HR for people-related matters.
- Support audits, inspections and statutory documentation.
