About the Role

Avanti Pet Care (Brand name – Avant Furst) is seeking a passionate and science-driven Pet Nutritionist to lead the development & research of high-quality, nutritionally balanced pet food products. This role is ideal for someone who combines a deep understanding of animal nutrition with innovation in pet wellness and product formulation.

Job Title : Pet Nutritionist

Reporting to : R&D; Head, Avanti Group

Location : Hyderabad, India - Onsite

Employment Type : Full-time.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and formulate nutritionally balanced pet food recipes in dry, wet & treats range for dogs & cats.
- Ensure all formulations meet regulatory standards and nutritional guidelines (AAFCO, FEDIAF, etc.).
- Conduct ingredient research and evaluate raw materials for quality, safety, and nutritional value.
- Collaborate with R&D;, product development, and marketing teams to create innovative pet food solutions.
- Analyse nutritional data and perform feeding trials where required.
- Monitor emerging trends in pet nutrition, including functional ingredients and therapeutic diets.




- Support product claims with scientific evidence and assist in creating educational content.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure consistency and quality control.
- Address customer queries related to pet nutrition and product usage.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Animal Nutrition, Veterinary Science, Food Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in pet food formulation or animal nutrition.
- Solid understanding of pet dietary requirements and ingredient functionality.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks for pet food.
- Experience with nutritional software and data analysis tools is a plus.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in economy, premium or therapeutic pet food segments.
- Familiarity with petfood raw-material sources & recipe mix
- Strong research and documentation abilities.
- Passion for pet health and wellness.
