The company operates a 120,000 square feet furniture and fixture manufacturing unit in Mumbai, serving domestic and international retail markets with specialized store furniture and fixtures.
Ensemble designs and executes over 1.5 million square feet annually in workspace, retail, and commercial interiors for Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies in sectors including IT/ITES, BFSI, real estate, media, FMCG, pharma, hospitals, and multi-industry conglomerates. Its client portfolio includes global and Indian brands such as Reliance Industries, Amazon, Morgan Stanley, Google, IBM, Apple, Samsung, Airtel, Vodafone, Givenchy, Hamleys, and many others.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Legal Compliance Officer role based in Mumbai.
The Legal Compliance
Officer will monitor and interpret applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to Ensemble’s operations, and ensure company policies and procedures are aligned with regulatory requirements. The role includes drafting, reviewing, and maintaining legal and compliance documentation, contracts, and internal policies,
as well as supporting teams with guidance on legal issues related to projects, manufacturing, and commercial arrangements. The individual will conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments, coordinate with external counsel when needed, and assist in resolving legal and regulatory queries from internal stakeholders and authorities.
The role also involves training employees on compliance obligations, maintaining records and reports, and contributing to continuous improvement of the compliance framework.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law, with the ability to interpret statutes, contracts, and legal precedents relevant to infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, and commercial operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in Regulatory Compliance and Legal Compliance, including implementing compliance frameworks, conducting audits, and managing regulatory filings.
- Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation and handling Legal Issues, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, policies, and other legal documents.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Law (LL.B/LL.M) from a recognized institution; membership in a bar council or relevant professional body is an advantage.
- Experience in corporate legal or compliance roles, preferably within infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, real estate, or related sectors.
- Robust analytical and risk assessment skills, with attention to detail and the ability to provide clear, practical advice to non-legal stakeholders.
