Role Description

Senior QA- Mainframe Testing, API Testing & Performance Testing

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA with 7+ years of comprehensive quality assurance experience, specializing in Mainframe Testing, API Testing, and Performance Testing.

This role requires expertise in legacy system validation, modern API testing methodologies, performance optimization, and leadership of QA initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in end-to-end testing strategies, test automation, and quality management in enterprise environments.

Mainframe Testing

- Design and execute comprehensive test strategies for mainframe applications (COBOL, PL/I, Natural, Assembler)
- Perform functional testing of mainframe batch and online systems (CICS, IMS, DB2)
- Conduct regression testing for mainframe application updates and patches
- Utilize mainframe testing tools (Rational Functional Tester, Micro Focus, JIRA, CA tools)
- Validate VSAM files, DB2 databases, and dataset integrity
- Perform impact analysis for mainframe changes and system dependencies
- Test integrations between mainframe and modern systems
- Document mainframe test cases and maintain test coverage metrics
- Mentor junior testers on mainframe testing best practices and methodologies

API Testing

- Design and develop automated test suites for REST, SOAP, and GraphQL APIs
- Perform functional, integration, and contract testing of APIs
- Conduct security testing and vulnerability assessment on API endpoints
- Implement performance and load testing for APIs
- Validate API response times, error handling, and status codes
- Test API authentication, authorization, and data encryption
- Create and maintain API test documentation and test data sets
- Use API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI, Insomnia)
- Integrate API testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Perform API backward compatibility testing

Performance Testing

- Design and execute comprehensive performance testing strategies
- Conduct load testing, stress testing,



and capacity planning - Analyze performance bottlenecks and provide optimization recommendations
- Use performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, New Relic)
- Monitor system metrics, CPU, memory, and network utilization
- Create performance test scenarios and baseline metrics
- Conduct spike testing, endurance testing, and volume testing
- Validate database query performance and optimization
- Generate detailed performance test reports with findings and recommendations
- Collaborate with development teams on performance improvement initiatives
