Responsibilities:

The tasks, roles and responsibilities pertaining to the job role of a Senior Associate will include the following:

- Conducting thorough technical research on tax laws including international tax commentaries, OECD publications, papers and reading through internal knowledge management database.

- Analyzing and interpreting provisions under the Income Tax Act and provisions pertaining to International Tax, and dealing with interpretation of Tax Treaties. Reading and understanding of allied laws under regulatory, exchange control etc

- Advising clients on complex corporate tax matters which includes PE, GAAR, PoEM, SEP, and International Tax Treaties.

- Advising clients on pre/post-acquisition corporate tax advisory including group tax restructuring, tax due diligence, review of financial models, and documentation review.

- Advising clients on key advisory projects like entry strategies, funding options, cross-border transaction taxation and ETR analysis.

- Preparation of memos, presentations,



opinions etc. as per client’s needs and based on detailed analysis of the issues involved.

- Handling the assessment proceedings and supporting the litigation team in appellate proceedings with CIT(A), ITAT and other authorities. This includes data analysis, preparing legal arguments, paper book, submissions, note to Counsel, Interface with the tax department etc.

- Helping clients in litigation resolution through critical thinking, devising legal and non-legal strategies and also by exploring alternative dispute resolution options / forums such as Mutual Agreement Procedure, Advance Pricing Agreements, Advance Rulings etc.

- Ensuring completion of clients on ongoing compliances such as Income Tax Returns, TDS computation and returns etc. and oversee & manage the work undertaken by the delivery center teams.

- Effective implementation and review of work programs and updating the Manager proactively on various work-related aspects.

- Keeping track of latest tax and industry developments and updating the clients about them.

- Acting as a key point of contact for clients and updating them on ongoing assignments and matters on a prompt and regular basis.

- Assuming overall responsibility for execution of the assignments and driving them to completion.

- Coordinating with x-SBU teams (such as transfer pricing, indirect tax, regulatory teams etc.) as well as internal support teams (such as delivery centers, litigation team etc.) for overall project management.

- Support the Team Leads in taking internal Learning and Education (L&E;) sessions.

- Guiding and overseeing the work of Analysts and Senior Analysts.

Profile Requirements
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience Prior Experience in Big 4 in corporate tax will be an added advantage.

- Other prerequisite skills include

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong analytical and numerical skills.

- Well-rounded commercial and economic awareness and understanding of the financial markets.

- Coordinating with Team Leads for the planning and management of assignments.

Subject Matter Expertise required
- Knowledge of





- Direct Tax including income-tax, DTAA and international tax principles.

- Working knowledge of corporate law, FEMA, and transfer pricing.

Mandatory skill sets:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience Prior Experience in Big 4 in corporate tax will be an added advantage.

- Other prerequisite skills include

Years of experience required: Minimum 5-7 years of experience

CA

Any Additional Professional Qualification or International tax certifications will be an added advantage.
