About the Role

Cogniter Technologies is looking for an experienced and creative Design Manager to lead our design team and oversee the successful delivery of high-quality digital, web, UI/UX, and graphic design projects.

The ideal candidate should combine strong design expertise with team leadership, project management, creative direction, and client/stakeholder coordination skills. The role involves guiding designers, maintaining design quality and consistency, managing workloads, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and in line with business and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership & Team Management

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of graphic, web, and UI/UX designers.

- Allocate projects and tasks based on team members' skills, experience, availability, and workload.

- Provide creative direction, constructive feedback, and guidance to improve team performance.

- Conduct regular design reviews and ensure work meets established quality standards.

- Identify skill gaps and support team members through coaching, training, and development initiatives.

- Foster a collaborative, creative, and positive team environment.

- Encourage knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the design team.

Project & Workflow Management

- Oversee multiple design projects from concept through final delivery.

- Plan project timelines, priorities, resources, and deliverables.

- Coordinate with Project Managers, Developers, Marketing Teams, Content Writers, and other stakeholders.

- Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables are completed within agreed timelines.

- Identify potential bottlenecks, resource constraints, and project risks and take timely corrective action.

- Manage competing priorities while maintaining consistency, quality, and efficiency across projects.

- Ensure design processes and workflows are followed effectively.

Creative Direction & Quality Control

- Establish and maintain design standards, guidelines, and best practices across projects.

- Review and approve designs before final delivery.

- Ensure consistency in branding, typography, color, layouts, visual hierarchy, and overall user experience.

- Provide creative direction for websites, landing pages, mobile applications, marketing materials, social media creatives, and other digital assets.

- Ensure designs align with client requirements, business objectives, brand guidelines,



and current design trends.

- Encourage experimentation with new ideas, tools, technologies, and design approaches.

- Maintain a high standard of visual quality across all design deliverables.

UI/UX & Web Design

- Guide the team in creating intuitive, user-focused, and visually engaging UI/UX designs.

- Review wireframes, user flows, mockups, prototypes, and design systems.

- Ensure responsive and user-friendly designs across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

- Work closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation of approved designs.

- Promote usability, accessibility, consistency, and performance-focused design practices.

- Ensure design solutions address both user needs and business objectives.

Client & Stakeholder Management

- Participate in client discussions to understand requirements, expectations, feedback, and business objectives.

- Present design concepts, recommendations, and solutions to clients and internal stakeholders.

- Handle design-related queries, feedback, revisions, and escalations professionally.

- Translate business and client requirements into clear creative direction for the design team.

- Manage expectations and ensure timely communication throughout the design process.

- Build strong and professional relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Process Improvement

- Establish efficient design workflows, review processes, and documentation standards.

- Identify opportunities to improve team productivity, design quality, and turnaround time.

- Introduce relevant tools, methodologies, and best practices to streamline design operations.

- Maintain organized design libraries, assets, templates, and brand guidelines.

- Promote consistent use of design systems and reusable components where applicable.

- Stay updated with emerging design trends, AI-powered design tools, technologies, and industry best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 5–8 years of professional experience in Graphic Design, Web Design, UI/UX Design, or a related field.

- Previous experience in a Design Lead, Design Manager, Senior Designer, or similar leadership role.





- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise across web, graphic, UI/UX, and digital design.

- Strong proficiency in tools such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD, or similar design applications.

- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, responsive design, typography, color theory, layout, and visual hierarchy.

- Proven experience managing, mentoring, and developing design teams.

- Strong project planning, prioritization, workload management, and resource allocation skills.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management abilities.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high design standards.

- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong creative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience working with international clients or global design teams.

- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and basic front-end development concepts.

- Experience creating and maintaining design systems and brand guidelines.

- Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Trello, Asana, ClickUp, or similar platforms.

- Experience with motion graphics, animation, or video editing is an added advantage.

- Knowledge of accessibility and cross-browser design principles.

- Familiarity with AI-based design and productivity tools is a plus.

- Experience working in an Agile or collaborative product development environment is an added advantage.
