Develop and maintain relationships with various stakeholders to ensure that Apraava Energy remains the partner of choice for the OEMs and contractors.
Achieve the target IRR (as approved by FID) by ensuring the capex remains within budget. Identify the key risks and mitigations which can potentially impact the IRR.
Maintain the highest ethical standards in the procurement process and ensure compliance with the company’s governance processes
Pre-Bid Support Support the BD team with capex assumptions at pre-bid stage with vendor quotations and in-house cost estimates.
Work in close coordination with Construction and Technical team for optimizing the configuration with the objective of reducing life cycle cost for a competitive bid
Sourcing Strategy and Contract Negotiations Create sourcing strategy for key equipment like solar panels, WTG, BESS and high cost items for direct procurement.
Coordinate closely with the construction and legal team for contracting strategy for each project considering the project budget and timelines
Lead the team in contractual negotiations (including commercial and technical) with the counter-party (including the OEMs, EPC Contractors, Developer, etc.);
Guide the team to create vendor evaluation matrix and evaluate vendors in collaboration with the investment team on economic aspects. Ensure contract closure within budget
Work closely with the legal team and vendors to finalize the contract. Secure approvals for signing contracts as per the company’s governance policy.
Brief the senior leadership on aspects requiring their attention- deviation for budget, timelines and events which can potentially impact IRR .
Vendor Performance and Project Monitoring Create a vendor performance matrix and a process for monitoring vendor performance
Monitor contractor performance and support the construction team with appropriate corrective actions from the vendors
Minimize change orders and cost overruns with appropriate measures in the contract and negotiations with the vendor
Track the project progress and budget, forecast/estimate the cost to complete the project and provide the report for senior management highlighting the risks and recommended mitigations for bringing the IRR for the project on track.
Build Capabilities Develop zero-based costing model for each type of project and procurement package.
Develop insights into technologies and supply chain of key items (for e.g. Solar panels) for informed vendor selection and effective negotiation.
Build a network of both large EPC partners, and small contractors (package level) to prepare the organization from turnkey to self-implement with package strategy
Build a culture of data-based decision making with effective implement Project Costing module in ERP (Oracle) and project progress tracking in a Project Management Tool (Wrench).
Develop and implement process for continuous learning from past projects and implement into new opportunities.
Stakeholder management
- Communicate with regulatory bodies (CEA, CERC), off-takers (Discoms) and Bidding Agencies (SECI) on project level issues -for e.g. time extensions, Change in Laws, etc in close conjunction with the legal and construction
- Represent Apraava at industry association meetings for project specific issues.

1. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Educational Qualifications
- Minimum Qualification: B.E/B.Tech, preferably with a MBA in Finance/Operations
Functional Skills
- Positive understanding of the entire project cycle (Development, Construction, and Asset Management)
- Strong capabilities for analyzing and interpreting the commercial aspects on PPA, contracts
- Effective negotiation skills
- Relationship management with the stakeholders – vendors, contractors and regulators
Relevant and total years of Experience
- Overall experience: 18+ years in power sector
- Specific experience: 6-8 years in contracting of large-scale EPC Contracts for wind and solar projects. Experience in BESS projects will be an added advantage
