About the Role The role involves owning the end-to-end monthly financial close process, supporting financial planning and analysis, and leading a team to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Monthly Accrual-Based Financial Close (Primary Responsibility)
- Owns the end-to-end monthly close for Peocit, ensuring accrual-based books are complete, accurate, and delivered on Andromeda's group reporting timeline.
- Prepares and reviews journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations in accordance with CSI corporate accounting policy (IFRS).
- Maintains the chart of accounts, ensuring it is aligned and mapped to Andromeda/CSI’s baseline chart of account structure, and applies CSI's accounting policies consistently across the ledger.
- Reviews balance sheet reconciliations monthly, investigates variances, and resolves or escalates issues promptly.
- Bridges Peocit's Indian statutory books (Ind AS) with the group reporting standards required by Andromeda and CSI, flagging any policy gaps as they arise.
- Partners with Andromeda's India finance leadership and Home Office finance team to keep the close aligned with divisional standards and cadence.
Financial Planning & Analysis (Secondary Responsibility)
- Supports the annual budget and periodic rolling forecast cycles for Peocit, working closely with the COO and business unit leadership.
- Prepares variance analysis comparing actuals to budget and forecast, with clear, actionable commentary on the drivers behind the numbers.
- Provides ad hoc financial analysis to inform pricing, cost, and day-to-day operating decisions.
- Supports IRR calculations, attrition analysis, and other requests from CSI/Andromeda corporate, providing timely and accurate data to inform decision-making.
- Builds and maintains reporting templates and dashboards that give leadership timely visibility into financial performance.
- Participation in the Consolidated Financial Close
- Support the monthly and quarterly reporting packages, including balance sheet reconciliations, variance commentary, disclosure support, and timely submission of corporate reporting requirements.
- Manage intercompany reconciliations, related-party balances, consolidation support, and elimination entries within a multi-entity group structure.
Team Leadership & Development
- Leads, coaches, and develops a team of three — balancing hands-on execution with active people management.
- Sets transparent expectations, reviews the quality of the team's work, and builds their capability in accrual accounting and CSI-aligned processes.
- Holds the team to a high bar on accuracy and deadlines while creating an environment where people want to stay and grow.
- Runs regular 1:1s and gives direct, constructive feedback; addresses performance issues early and fairly.
Internal Controls, Compliance & Audit Support
- Maintains and strengthens internal controls over financial reporting for Peocit in line with CSI standards.
- Supports statutory audits, tax filings, and other compliance requirements in coordination with local advisors and Andromeda's compliance and tax functions.
- Identifies control gaps or compliance risks early and escalates with clear context.
Stakeholder Partnership & Communication
- Serves as the primary day-to-day finance point of contact for Peocit's COO and leadership team.
- Partners with Andromeda's Home Office finance functions (India finance leadership, tax, treasury) to stay aligned with group policy and reporting cadence.
- Communicates financial results and analysis clearly to non-finance stakeholders, tailoring detail and tone to the audience.
Qualifications
Chartered Accountant (CA), CMA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
Required Skills
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including direct ownership of an accrual-based monthly close process.
- Prior people-management experience or demonstrated readiness to lead and develop a small team (2–3 direct reports).
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CMA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Strong working knowledge of Indian statutory and accounting requirements (Ind AS), with the ability to bridge local books to a parent company's group reporting standards.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Practical experience preparing FP&A; deliverables — budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis with narrative commentary.
- Professional fluency in English.
