EHS Manager
Location: Sri City, Andhra Pradesh | On-site | Full-time | Starts January 2027
About the role
We are looking for a proactive, credible EHS professional to establish and lead the Environmental, Health, and Safety function at our Sri City manufacturing site. The EHS Manager ensures the site operates in full compliance with Indian statutory requirements and international best practices, and builds a genuine safety culture across all departments.
The right person leads by example, is confident in stopping unsafe work regardless of production pressure, and is equally effective on the shop floor and with senior management.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the site EHS Management System to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
- Conduct and maintain risk assessments for all site activities, equipment, and processes; implement appropriate engineering, administrative, and PPE controls
- Ensure full compliance with the Factories Act 1948, Environment Protection Act, PCB regulations, and all applicable Indian EHS legislation
- Manage statutory licences and renewals — fire NOC, consent to establish/operate, waste disposal authorisations — and liaise with regulatory authorities
- Lead investigation of all accidents, near misses,
and dangerous occurrences using structured root cause analysis; ensure timely statutory reporting
- Design and deliver EHS induction, ongoing training, safety drills, and emergency response exercises
- Monitor and manage environmental aspects including air emissions, effluent, solid waste, and energy consumption
- Manage EHS requirements for on-site contractors, including permit-to-work administration and high-risk activity controls
What we're looking for
- Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field
- Recognised EHS qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) preferred
- 5–8+ years in an EHS role in manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a senior or standalone EHS position
- Deep knowledge of Indian EHS legislation and direct experience managing EHS compliance in Andhra Pradesh or Tamil Nadu strongly preferred
- Experience implementing or maintaining ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems
- Familiarity with EHS requirements in regulated manufacturing — medical device or pharma preferred
- Qualified proficiency in English required
- Proficiency in Telugu and/or Tamil required
