Location: Hinjewadi, Pune (On-site)
We're looking for a hybrid engineer who can own our hardware-to-cloud pipeline end to end — someone who's as comfortable soldering a prototype board as configuring an AWS IoT stack.
Role Overview
You'll help design our custom PCB and its firmware, integrate LoRa and GPS sensor modules, and build the data path that gets sensor readings from the device into our cloud infrastructure via MQTT. This is a hands-on, build-it-yourself role.
Core Responsibilities
1.Hardware & Firmware
- Assist in designing and iterating on custom PCB layouts (schematic capture, component selection, basic layout review).
- Write and maintain embedded firmware (C/C++) for microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, ESP32, or similar)
- Integrate LoRa radio modules and GPS modules into the firmware stack.
- Bring up, debug, and bench-test prototype boards; support small-batch manufacturing handoff.
2.Connectivity & Cloud
- Implement MQTT messaging from embedded devices to AWS IoT Core (or similar broker)
- Work with AWS services (IoT Core, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, EC2/ECS) to build the ingestion and processing pipeline for device data.
- Help set up and maintain cloud infrastructure supporting the product (basic DevOps: CI/CD, monitoring, deployment scripting).
- Contribute to security best practices for device provisioning and cloud communication (certs, keys, OTA updates).
Nice to Have
- Experience with low-power design and battery-powered IoT devices.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
- Experience with LoRaWAN network servers (e.g., ChirpStack, The Things Network).
- Prior work in a hardware startup or product-from-scratch workplace.
- Basic mechanical/enclosure design awareness.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in embedded systems development.
- Solid C/C++ firmware skills; comfortable with RTOS or bare-metal environments.
- Working knowledge of PCB design tools (KiCad, Altium, or Eagle).
- Practical experience with wireless protocols (LoRa/LoRaWAN preferred; BLE/WiFi a plus).
- Experience with MQTT and cloud IoT platforms (AWS IoT Core strongly preferred).
- Comfortable navigating both a soldering iron and a cloud console — this is a generalist role, not a narrow specialist one.
- Startup mindset: self-directed, comfortable with ambiguity, willing to wear multiple hats.
You'll have direct influence over the architecture of the device and the cloud platform it talks to, from the first prototype through production scale.
