About the department:

Our Business Tax team is geared to help clients effectively handle their business tax compliance and advisory needs. With our rich experience in the history and progress of Indian tax law and administration, we help clients build stable and sustainable tax strategies that combine technical, practical, and commercial aspects. The department provides services like - Preparation and review of Individual and Corporate Tax Returns, Revenue Audits and Litigation, Tax Health Checks, Withholding Tax Compliance, Tax Advisory Services, Certification Services, Departmental Interactions, and Other Direct Tax Compliances.

Role Description

Manage Nexdigm's end to end deliverable needs from junior to leadership along with department level and group level projects while ensuring that the revenue targets are met

Key Result Areas:

1. Operational Compliance & Advisory

- Responsible for end-to-end direct tax compliance for domestic and foreign corporate clients including Filing of tax returns, Monthly withholding tax review, Quarterly TDS returns, Quarterly advance tax and dividend assignments
- Providing advisory on withholding tax implications and applicable tax rates on various foreign remittances (Form 15CB issuance)
- Providing international tax advisory on matters like POEM (Place of Effective Management), PE (Permanent Establishment) risk exposure, etc.




- Handling corporate tax litigation including preparation of appeals, preparation of detailed submissions, research on legal issues up to the Tribunal level, etc.
- Handling departmental interactions including Filing rectification and refund applications, Order-giving effects, Stay applications, etc.
- Assisting partner in achieving their revenue target

1. Team Management

- Training and grooming of team members for effective ground-level execution
- Speaker at internal and external training sessions
- Responsible for Preparation of tax alerts on key direct tax updates and amendments
- Assistance in recruitment of team members with suitable skills for smooth functioning of daily operations

1. Business Development & Client Relationship Management

- Assistance in client mining and new client pitching
- Preparation of proposals/presentations for prospective clients
- Participating in meetings with key clients

1. Practice Management

- Ensuring timely billing, collections, and follow-ups with clients for outstanding dues
- Assistance in preparation of Monthly MIS reports, Financial projections, Annual budget plans

Required Competencies, Skills, and Experience

- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 5-8 years of post-qualification experience in Direct Tax,
- Valuable writing and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of basic IT applications like MS Office, Tally, Winman, etc.,
- Ability to read and interpret various tax treaties,
- Experience in handling litigation matters,
- Handling a team size of 7-8 team members,
- Experience in handling international tax advisory matters like POEM, PE risk exposure, etc.
