About the role The Contracts Manager is responsible for strategically leading the Contracts team, delivering services from the Bengaluru office, including but not limited to delivering value, governance, and operational excellence across the organisation’s portfolio (and cover for outsourced services oversight). This role ensures the effective development and execution of contracting activities, frameworks,



and systems to maximize commercial value, mitigate risk, and enable safe, sustainable, timely business outcomes. The position requires strong commercial acumen, stakeholder engagement, and governance oversight, as well as the ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in Contracts practices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Partner with internal stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Operations, Projects, Digital, HR, etc.) and external suppliers to deliver commercial and operational requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Contracts team, fostering engagement, professional growth, and innovation.
- Develop and execute contracting and procurement strategies that protect, create, and maximize value across all activities.
- Ensure robust governance, compliance, and assurance of Contracts practices in alignment with global standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Oversee and, where appropriate, manage the delivery of contracting activities in accordance with approved frameworks and delegations. Initial focus and delivery will be nominated low-risk low value (Tier 3) Contracts and selective Contracts Administration tasks across the portfolio
- Contribute to management of risk, compliance, and assurance processes, including Sarbanes Oxley and other regulatory frameworks.
- Drive digital transformation and process improvement initiatives, leveraging analytics and technology to enhance Contracts performance.
- Support efficient use and deployment of Contracts and Procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Contract Lifecycle Management Systems - iCertis), ensuring stability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Manage budgets, financial discipline, and sustainability for local team within the C&P; function.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of activities, decisions, and changes.
- Adopt local change champion role for change management initiatives,



including system/process upgrades and organisational transitions.
- Foster a “One Team” culture, collaborating across disciplines and geographies.

Skills & Experience:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
- 10–15+ years’ experience in Contracting, Procurement, Commercial, or Supply Chain roles, ideally within oil & gas, energy, or major capital-intensive industries.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Proven leadership in managing and developing high-performing teams across diverse portfolios.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to deliver value through contracting and procurement strategies.
- Deep understanding of C&P; frameworks, governance, risk management, and compliance.
- Experience with ERP and contract lifecycle management systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead change, drive digital transformation, and deliver process improvements.
- Significant experience in stakeholder management (including remotely and across multiple global regions) supported by excellent negotiation and communication skills.
