What You’ll Be Doing (position summary):

As a member of CIBC’s End Point Compute team, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the configuration and automated deployment of Windows operating systems and applications for endpoints.

You will provide key technical 2nd level day-to-day Windows support in day-to-day including troubleshooting and remediating operating system configuration and deployment related issues.

How You’ll Succeed (responsibilities):

Provide operational support for Windows endpoints throughout all stages of the endpoint lifecycle including provisioning, deployment, configuration and ongoing maintenance.

Day-to-day activities include:

- Creating scripts in PowerShell
- Analyzing and resolving Windows OS and application issues
- Remediating vulnerabilities
- Provisioning VDI
- Leading and participating in technical incident bridges
- Coordinating efforts across teams
- Articulating technical issues using executive language when presenting findings
- Analyzing incident history and determining actionable trends

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintain regular contact with peers, technology service owners, and middle management
- Partner closely with Infrastructure teams : Engineering, Operations, and the Help Desk

AUTHORITIES/DECISION RIGHTS:

- As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes in order to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Must Have Skills:

- 6 years of related experience in Windows endpoint Services and Support, preferably at an FI or other large complex organization. You can demonstrate knowledge and experience in:
- Endpoint Incident Support and Triage (Expert)
- Troubleshooting Windows Operating System (OS) and components (Expert)
- Configuring and Troubleshooting Printers (Expert)
- Vulnerability Remediation (Intermediate)
- Windows OS Automated Deployment Methodologies (Intermediate)
- In-Place Updates (IPU)
- Driver/Firmware Updates
- Automation and Scripting with PowerShell and VBS (Intermediate)
- Application Support (Intermediate)
- Web Browsers
- Document Viewers
- Compression Software
- Terminal Emulation
- Modern device provisioning through Intune and Autopilot (Working knowledge).
- Intune policies including device configuration, device compliance, application configuration, and application protection (Working Knowledge).
- Windows security fundamentals (Working Knowledge).
- Windows OS feature update cadence (Working Knowledge).
- Azure Services including Active Directory, Dynamic Groups and Dev-Ops (Working Knowledge).




- Active Directory Concepts including User and Group Management, Group Policy and Login Scripts (Working knowledge)
- OS Policy Configuration Support (Working knowledge)
- Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager including Software Deployment and Remote Control (Working knowledge)
- Virtual desktop environments including Hyper-V, VMware, Citrix, Azure (Working Knowledge)
- VDI Provisioning capabilities using Citrix Director and VMware vSphere is an asset.
- Strong Communication – Whether articulating ideas in writing or verbalizing solutions and challenges, communication is critical to ensure clarity in all aspects of work
- Relationship Management/Teamwork – Work closely with clients, peers, and mentors to develop, test, and implement solutions. Take a consultative approach to interactions on initiatives and when advising clients on solutions.
- Understanding Requirements – Track and analyze operating environment for specified services and implement corrective actions as needed. Work with clients and internal partners to determine, negotiate, and manage services to the agreed standards. Monitor service levels to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking – Knowledge of tools and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks and perspectives when solving problems.
- Planning – Ability to contribute to operational (short term), and tactical (1 - 2 years)
- Service Management – Knowledge of the asset and process management practices, requirements, and support services.
