Role Description The Computational Designer will work full time in office at the GPM Architects & Planners studio in New Delhi. This role involves developing and implementing computational design workflows to support architectural and planning projects, including parametric modeling, generative design, and performance-based analysis.

The Computational

Designer will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to translate design concepts into data-driven models, optimize building forms, and evaluate design alternatives. Daily tasks include creating scripts and visual programming tools,



preparing digital models and visualizations, documenting processes, and supporting teams in integrating new technologies and faster construction techniques. The role also includes contributing to design research, maintaining design tools and libraries, and ensuring that computational methods align with project timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in computational and parametric design tools (e.g., Grasshopper, Rhino, Dynamo, Revit, and other BIM platforms).
- Experience with programming or visual scripting languages for design workflows (e.g., Python, C#, or equivalent tools used in architecture and engineering).
- Skills in digital modeling, visualization, and data-driven design analysis, including geometry optimization and performance-based studies.
- Understanding of architectural design principles, building systems, and coordination with structural, civil, and MEP disciplines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams, communicate complex ideas clearly, and document workflows for project use.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Computational Design, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Prior experience in an architecture or design practice, especially on large-scale or mixed-use projects, is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Indian building codes, local construction practices, and exposure to government or large-scale residential projects is an advantage.
