Position: Aviation Security Compliance Officer
Department: Aviation Security / Operations
Location: Airport
Reporting To: Airport Security Manager / Chief Security Officer
Employment Type: Full-Time
## 1. Job Purpose The Aviation Security Compliance Officer will be responsible for monitoring, implementing, and maintaining compliance with applicable BCAS, ICAO, airport operator, and approved Aviation Security (AVSEC) requirements. The position will ensure that security personnel, procedures, documentation, equipment, access controls, and operational activities are compliant with prescribed aviation-security standards.
The role will also support internal audits, inspections, security drills, training, incident reporting, corrective actions, and coordination with airport stakeholders.
## 2. Key Responsibilities
### A. Aviation Security Compliance
- Monitor compliance with applicable BCAS regulations, AVSEC Orders, security directives, airport security procedures and approved security programmes.
- Ensure security operations are carried out strictly as per approved SOPs and security procedures.
- Conduct regular compliance inspections of security operations and identify deviations/non-compliances.
- Maintain a compliance tracker and ensure timely closure of observations.
- Support implementation of changes arising from BCAS/airport security directives.
- Ensure proper documentation and availability of security-related records for inspections and audits.
### B. Security Audit & Inspection
- Conduct scheduled and surprise inspections of security posts and operational areas.
- Verify compliance of security personnel with prescribed screening, access-control and security procedures.
- Assist in internal security audits and external regulatory/airport inspections.
- Prepare audit reports highlighting observations, risks and corrective/preventive actions.
- Follow up with concerned departments for closure of audit observations.
- Maintain records of inspection findings and corrective-action reports.
### C. Access Control & Restricted Area Compliance
- Monitor compliance with airport access-control requirements.
- Verify appropriate use of Airport Entry Permits/Airport Identity Cards and other access credentials.
- Ensure personnel follow prescribed procedures for entry into restricted and security-sensitive areas.
- Report unauthorized access, suspicious activity, lost credentials or security violations immediately.
- Coordinate with airport security authorities regarding access-control issues.
### D. Security Operations Monitoring
- Monitor deployment and performance of security personnel at designated locations.
- Ensure adequate manpower deployment as per approved deployment plans.
- Monitor security screening, access control, perimeter security,
terminal security and other assigned security functions.
- Identify operational gaps and recommend corrective measures.
- Ensure security equipment and systems are being used correctly and reported deficiencies are escalated.
### E. Training & Competency
- Coordinate and monitor AVSEC-related training, refresher training and awareness programmes.
- Maintain training and competency records of security personnel.
- Identify training gaps and coordinate with the concerned department for corrective action.
- Ensure personnel performing security functions possess the required training and competency, consistent with BCAS expectations.
### F. Incident & Emergency Management
- Support investigation and documentation of security incidents, violations and near misses.
- Ensure timely reporting and escalation of security incidents to the appropriate authority.
- Participate in security contingency exercises, mock drills and emergency preparedness exercises.
- Maintain incident reports, investigation records and corrective-action documentation.
- Support periodic review of emergency and contingency procedures.
### G. Security Equipment & Surveillance
- Monitor the operational condition and compliance status of security equipment such as HHMD, DFMD, X-ray screening systems, CCTV and communication equipment, as applicable.
- Ensure equipment deficiencies are reported and followed up for rectification.
- Maintain inspection and maintenance records.
- Coordinate with technical/airport teams for resolution of security-equipment issues.
### H. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain AVSEC compliance registers, inspection reports, training records, incident reports and corrective-action records.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly security compliance reports for management.
- Maintain evidence and documentation required for regulatory and client audits.
- Ensure controlled handling of confidential security-related information.
### I. Coordination
- Coordinate with Airport Operator, BCAS representatives, CISF/State Police, airline representatives, ground-handling agencies, concessionaires and other relevant stakeholders, as applicable.
- Support management during regulatory inspections, security audits and surprise checks.
- Coordinate with operations and HR teams regarding security personnel deployment, training, documentation and compliance.

- Security equipment availability and issue-resolution tracking.
- Audit readiness and documentation quality.
## 4. Candidate Profile
Education:
- Graduate in any discipline.
- Diploma/Certification in Aviation Security, Security Management or related field will be an advantage.
Experience:
- Preferably 3–7 years of experience in aviation security, airport operations, security compliance, facility/security management or a related field.
- Experience in airport/airline/ground-handling/security-agency operations will be preferred.
- Experience in conducting audits, inspections and compliance monitoring will be an advantage.
## 5. Required Skills
- Good knowledge of airport security procedures and AVSEC compliance.
- Understanding of BCAS requirements and airport security protocols.
- Solid inspection and audit skills.
- Good report-writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to identify security risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Good computer knowledge, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive security information.
## 6. Preferred Certifications
BCAS-approved/recognized AVSEC training, as applicable t o the role.
- AVSEC-related certification/training.
- Security management or risk-management certification.
- Emergency response / fire & safety training will be an advantage.

## 8. Authority & Accountability The Aviation Security Compliance Officer will be accountable for identifying compliance gaps, escalating security risks, monitoring corrective actions and ensuring that assigned aviation-security compliance activities are completed within prescribed timelines.
Note: The final JD and role authority should be customized to the airport operator's approved Security Programme, applicable BCAS requirements, contractual scope and the specific responsibilities delegated to the position.
